    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Silverheart's History

Silverheart was born to Boreas (Mustang), a grulla rabicano and Denali Frost (Arabian), a grulla on an equestrian farm in Chugach, Alaska. Her father was captured and used as a stud for the farm, where he met her mother, the best brood at the farm. Unfortunately, the humans were not impressed with their production, and her father was shot dead by the human because he was apparently not a good enough producer, and her mother was locked up in a pen, only able to see her daughter Silverheart once every three day. The lack of food that she got made her very unhealthy.
When was almost two, they humans packed her up in a trailer and dropped her off at Brooks Range, Alaska, a large, nearly untouched part of Alaska that was part of the arctic circle. She stayed in a small, secluded cave she found. She would come out for up to ten minutes to get water and food. She did this up until her fourth year of life. That's when she started exploring and gaining muscle and enjoying her young life. Since then, she was a daredevil. She would tease the bears, play the wolves, and run with owls. Now, at eight-years-old, she is allied with the wolf pack, she babysits bear cubs, and her best friend is a snowy owl by the name of Qannik.

    --------------------

Silverheart's silver pelt glowed like a sheet of platinum in the bright Alaskan sun, the heavy snow reflected on her belly and her eyes, making them shine a brilliant sky blue. Her long, dark grey mane, lined with white streaks, flowed heavily in the cold breeze. Her destination wasn't too far from where she was. She was stoked for what she would be in for when she arrived there. She was looking for a stallion, a herd, family... She left her home for this, she left her best friend Qannik, her allies, the Wolves, and the bear family she would spend time with at times.

    ----

She arrived at a great green meadow, flourishing with horses and small animals. She saw several groups of mares, eyeing stallions, and vice versa. She stood in the clearing, her great, grulla fur and brilliant blue eyes sparkled. The sun burned her back and face, and her mane fell warmly on her neck as the sun burned that, too.

Masts story has no romantic beginning, at least not in the normal sense. Surely his parents loved each other, as much as they could have given their circumstances. Their love had been wrought with turmoil though, and sadly was never meant to last. Perhaps Garbage and Oceanus were just two beings that the Gods had never intended to be truly happy. But still they had loved with a love that was more than a love. They had shared and kept secrets from one another, and in the end that secret had ended Oceanus’ long life. He had died there on the Beach, his throat torn and gaping as his newborn son stood on wobbly legs, pressed into the sharp angles of Garbage. They had watched the aftermath, though Mast had done his best to press those memories from his mind. They weren’t something he cared to dwell on, and if could totally forget then he would gladly do so.

It is a pleasant day, and so he ventured from the loving arms of his kingdom and out into the greater lands of Beqanna. The gray stallion paused here and there to take a bite of grass, not in any particular hurry but with a task in mind all the same. Above him the sun shined bright in the sky, and he felt as though a warm blanket had been laid over his gray back. Soon he reaches the Field, and his eyes sweep over the lands. It excited him to see how full the Field was these days, with scores of horses searching for homes. He makes his way through them, his eyes having fallen on a roan mare standing slightly off to the side. A warm smile washed over his black muzzle, and he approached her with that easy grace he had. “Hello there! Beautiful day, isn’t it?” he said conversationally, cocking a hind leg as he relaxed in her presence. “I’m Mast, King of Heavens Gates. Care to share a name?” He wasn’t always prone to dropping his title, and in fact sometimes felt strange doing so. But he was a king now, and it was high time he started getting used to it.

Just throw it back, for one more night
On a starlit and moon-struck night.

The Falls was a delightful place; a myriad of colourful wildflowers crawling the vast trunks of towering trees, the rolling green plains as viridian as spring's first fallen rain. It was a flourished land, beautiful, serene. And very much had become home to me. I owed a lot to Shatter Me, to the Falls and the few residents there. I suppose that was why I headed to the field, in search of equally lost souls as I had once been. Offering them a home, a beautiful place to rest your head at night and wander the colossal woods, finding many hidden gems.

I'd spent a little too long doing that, one could simply see the evidence strewn in my mane. Clumps of leaves, tethered bit of bark and the occasional flower that had become knotted in my mass of red mane. I left them there, as always, it was somewhat becoming. Perhaps. I was after all a tentative wallflower, a weed amongst the beautiful bed of roses. I had to be noticed, somehow. A noticeable that silver lady certainly was in the distance.

I clocked her as soon as I enter the field, her coat shimmering like a silver coin against the light of the sky. I watched, gathering myself, assuring myself that I wouldn't trip, I wouldn't allow my lips to part and a multitude of nonsense slip out. I kept my mouth tightly shut, watching with acute green eyes as I placed each feathered hoof down, one after the other. I did this until I met the Silver mare -- by which time another had approached her. I gave a low greeting, a husky whicker. My roman nose dipped when I was but a few paced away, fluffy crimson ears catching the stallion's greeting, and his title.

'Greetings, Mast.' I acknowledged him first and then dipped my salmon tinged nose to the silver maiden. A smile twisting my lips. 'Hello. I'm Eld of the Falls, a beautiful little slice of paradise.' I say, words lingering on my lips for a brief moment before my mind turned, try not to overdo it, try not to overdo it. 'Have you travelled far? Because you know, those here often have, or are simply revisiting an old home or... Ah. As Mast said, it's a beautiful day!' Awkward. I shake my head a touch, flower mixed mane falling across my thickset neck. 'A nice day to enter a new world, right?'

The ground did fold and eat us both
But all my love, I did devote.
