    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Oft in the woods is a listener nigh

The spotted stallion, too, is curious about this mentioned possible bargain with the Amazons, and he listens intently as it is revealed to the crowd. Well, that doesn't sound like that terrible of an idea to him. Had it been considered between the two lands before, and agreed upon, he might have found himself here in the snowy reaches that much earlier in his life. Realizing that, however, makes him a little sad internally, for it would have meant separation from Ellie, his twin and closest friend in the world. He might even have fought to keep from being sent away at that point, had it come to that. Still, had he been an only child, the Tundra would likely have held enough attraction that he would have gone willingly, and so he makes no protest against the suggested arrangement. Perhaps he would one day be tutoring a nephew here, or visiting with his sister to see how his daughter was turning out.

He is as shocked as the rest of the brothers when Tarnished disappears in mid-sentence, as if invisible fingers had simply yanked him from existance, and shocked just a little bit more when a new stallion makes his entrance, rubbing up against everyone in the crowd as he does so. Who was this, and did he always behave this way? With bemusement, Yronwood realizes that his worldly experience has been somewhat smaller than he previously believed. (He's just very startled over that is allWink ) Blinking himself back to reality, he looks at the remaining monarch as he speaks frantically to those gathered. The chestnut can't help but shrug, despite the seriousness of what had just happened. "I didn't see anything happen......he's just gone. " What would they do now, the brotherhood?
