    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

This is a stupid work trip. First I'm going to get a flight from the nearest airport, in Alliance, Nebraska. That flight (I think I'm flying Avies... what's the expense code for that?) is going to take me to Germany for a conference on the string theory and the special theory of relativity. While I'm there, I'm going to collect a bunch of things for souvenirs: some freeze dried schnitzel, a german bar, leiderhosen, a czech plane, and a polish jewelry box. Do you think my nieces and nephews will like their gifts?. Kinda sucks that it's the rainy season back home and they'll have to drive through the muck and the mire to get their gifts. I guess that's the problem with living in the middle of nowhere.

This is a stupid work trip. First I'm going to get a flight from the nearest airport, in Alliance, Nebraska.
    - the airport code for the Alliance, Nebraska airport is AIA. (source: http://www.cityofalliance.net/index.aspx?NID=253 ) Also on the main google page when you google "alliance nebraska airport"

That flight (I think I'm flying Avies... what's the expense code for that?)
    - Avies' ICAO code is also AIA (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avies)

is going to take me to Germany for a conference on the string theory and the special theory of relativity.
    - Special Theory of Relativity is also known as STR (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_relativity)

    STR + AIA = Straia

While I'm there, I'm going to collect a bunch of things for souvenirs: some freeze dried schnitzel, a german bar, leiderhosen, a czech plane
    - GRYF is from the German word Griff, one of which means 'bar' (source: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/gryf)
    - A GRYF ULM is a czech plane. (source: http://www.gryfair.cz/gryf-airplanes)
Both these links can be found on the first page when googling 'gryf'

    and a polish jewelry box.
    - box = chamber. (source: http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/chamber)

Do you think my nieces and nephews will like their gifts?. Kinda sucks that it's the rainy season back home and they'll have to drive through the muck and the mire to get their gifts.
    - Rainy = wet. Wetland.
    - A FEN is a type of mire. (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fen) Also comes up in a bold box when you google fen. Can also be found on the wiki page for mire. "there are two types of mires - fens and bogs". Also fen can be found as a synonym of mire (source: http://www.thesaurus.com/browse/mire)

I guess that's the problem with living in the middle of nowhere.

    GRYF + FEN = GRYFFEN

Gryffen from Straia of the Chamber. For a year of captivity in the Desert.

Unsuccessful -- if you're going to split the names like that (which I find iffy but I don't judge a lot so idk if that's the norm), the clues have to be clearer.
