    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    IT'S THE LIFE I CHOOSE

She doesn't understand what is happening all she knows is she wants to find her sister. She wants her family. This monster calls himself family, but she remembers not feeling to comfortable around him and after their encounter she remembers feeling sore and kinda nasty. She couldn't describe it but the feeling never went away.

She still feels... nasty this time its in that swollen belly that she can't understand how it got that way. She wanders and wanders restless, every time that she attempts to leave he seems to be there almost as if he is gaurding her, stalking maybe? She doesn't know. Just knows that she wants to be skinny and go see her sister again.

Eventually she watches a weird wet thing drop to the ground. She glowers at it. Well you got what you wanted Kirin, I'd like to go now. She stomps her hoof not paying any attention to the little bundle blinking up at her.

    Arkane

The blackness turns into light. She looks around the world with big blue eyes. There are strangers larger then life looming over her. Her belly hurt and she watched as others moved their lips almost expecting something from her. But she just looks at them with that blankness of no understanding.

She shivers for a moment her hide drying with the wet sticky stuff still on her dark purple coat. It seems that she is being ignored again. So she wiggles her ears one flopping to the side as she nibbles at the sand grains.

With a snort and a shake of her tiny head she sniffs the hooves of a winged male. Her jaw drops as she looks up at him. He looked similiar to herself. But he seemed to be quite in the same mood as the woman that was stomping her hoof. What was going on anyways?

He's proud of the amount of swelling barrels in the Cove, regardless of who was the cause. His brothers were only furthering their line, doing the work of Khaos and he had no protest against it. In fact, he encouraged them to do so. All save for Kult, the boy wouldn't budge and Kirin had tired of the argument.

He checks his little clutch of mares daily, all would be due in a matter of days and he must see what they brought him. Today it appears dear aunty has finally released the good form her womb, he happens upon the two in a flourish of lavender feathers.

His eyes look on the sticky mess of a foal, purple and blinking curiously. "Leave? hmm," He muses, taking care to nibble at the mess that still clung to the girl. "People in hell want ice water. Besides, you still have work to do here." He motions to the mess, the babe that should be suckling at her side by now. The woman had duties to see to, like it or not.

"Up with you then girl." He nudges the filly, trying to boost her rump into the air and get her standing. The scene so far was very unusual, though Kirin had always been gentle with his own offspring- those that pleased him anyways.

She glowers at the male. What are you talking about? She has the look of a child in her eyes completely not understanding anything that he could be insinuating. She couldn't even fully understand what it is that that a child is. She could never fully understand the concept of child rearing, or pregnancy, for that matter sex either.

Her ears flick back looking on as he bends to the child. She looks at the bundle a little stunned. Ears quirk looking at it interested in what it was slightly. Is that your's? She inquires You're lucky to have such a beautiful foal. What are you going to name her? Where's her mother? She blinks looking around a little perplexed. Wasn't a female supposed to take care of the kid? Why was Kirin walking around with a foal? She didn't remember him doing that before.

The foal is soon along her side suckling at her mothering nurishment. But it revolts the mare. Ears pin back and her eyes go wild with fear. Prancing the mare turns her haunches speeding off a short distance away. Sweaty and huffing her muscles remain coiled and she looks at the pair baffled. What the hell were they trying to pull? A foal doesn't just go between her legs and cause that kind of pain. No he wasn't going to use her as a surigate mother for the child that the bitch that birthed her wasn't willing to care for. No she would not allow it. Still she keeps her distance ready to kick should the child come back to her side.

She blinks her nostrils prickling with the bitter sweet scent of sand. When his teeth begin to warm up her coat, and from the looks of it he was removing the dried blood as well. Neck extending upwards she nibbles at his mane with a smile, bumping her face into his neck nuzzling him as he shows her kindness.

When he begins to push her up she uses her wobbly legs to stand succeeding on the first try. Though shaky as she is. A rumble of pleasure forms in her throat. Letting out the nicker in a squeal of pleasure. Though she doesn't know that she has done this. No to her the world remains silent, remains completely unaltered. There is no rise and fall of the cresting waves. Just the silent thrum of nothingness. She snorts her grey eyes looking around curiously.

Taking a few steps they draw her closer to the male and his wings. She bumps one with the velvet maw. Brushing her feelers along his feathers. They were strange and amazing. Her stomach felt funny and she fails to understand what it is that is happening. Only that this musky creature was nice to her. She sniffs her way along his side until she finds that it is the lavander womans side that she sniffing along. Her face being shoved into the lifegiving liquid. It smells good, and she takes a nip, sucking up as much of the nurishment as she can before the warmth is replaced with a chilly wind and she is knocked to her face.

The purple foal is completely and totally baffled by this. What was she todo? Standign again she grunts a little sore from the effort.

Kirin doesn't take care to notice anything different about the child yet. Though she delicately brushes him with her dainty little mouth, finding his hair and flesh and nibbling the two. He snorts, a whuff of hot air into the child's skin, skin that was now void of the mess of life giving- no thanks to her ungrateful mother.

Again he is pleased at how quickly the filly finds her feet, taking his poking and prodding and making use of the momentum he provided. Though the spindly legs prove shaky they are doing their best to support the child, a squeal leaving her in her small triumph. "Yes, very good, you'll be running in no time." Kirin's tongue comes to swipe against her tiny forelock before his aunt steals the attention. Her awkward and disturbed display of Motherhood was displeasing to say the least.

"Indeed, a lovely looking child. Do not be daft the girl slipped from your womb, you are the Mother dear aunt." He rolled his mouth in an irritated explanation, one he was not sure why he was giving. Was the woman an idiot? What she slow? Surely she felt the life leave her and slip wet to the earth past her own legs.

"As for a name...she'll be called Arkane. You'll see to feeding her as I've not any equipment to do so." The last part he barks, clearly fuming at the mare's lack of simple feeding skills and mothering instinct. "She is yours Kalamity, ours if you like, but regardless the child will need to eat." The calm in his voice had left some time ago.

She goes back to the stallion when the mare trots off snuggling up to his hyde, not fully comprehending what was going on. The purple girl looking to Kirin as she stands there. What was she to do? What was going on? This time the dark purple coat glitters in the sun as she steps away from him for a moment.

The curious butterfly had her full attention, ears strain forward in an instinctive jesture. She snorts and watches it fly away with a squeal of delite. She couldn't hear to know that she made a sound, her vocals as primitive as that of a dumb horse with no magic of beqanna to inhance the intellectual speach the rest of them were using. No she stood there in the sand dancing around enjoying the warmth and the company of the male. Her mother all but a thought in the back of her mind.

Her mother on the other hand glowered at Kirin. Not my child, I have never had a child in my life. He seemed to be getting angry with her. This was the first time that she had seen his temper rise. Part of her wanted to dare him. And another part of her told her not to. That she was pushing the package as it was. He believed that she was the mother, then the serigate mother she would have to be.

Her head drops low. Her lip nibbled on by her teeth. Why did it have to be her? Standing in front of him, she doesn't move when the child finishes its meal, she doesn't move when it walks away and gets that drunk sleep step in gate. Or even when the child between Kirins feet. No the mare had done as told. What now. Her voice dead with defeat. She was stuck and she knew it. There was no getting out now.

She would have to stay here for a while. Raise a child that he called hers. Most likely have to bare another considering that this one was defective. In any case she knew there was no escape anytime soon for herself. Not unless her sister had a miracle planned to get her out of here. But she wouldn't after kataclysm beleived that she wanted to be here. That she wanted to have this child.
