    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Faster, faster, faster the plainly colored filly pushed harder against the ground. More speed, more power, just more. Her little spindly legs thrummed beneath her slender body and her muscles started to ache with the strain of the speed for such an endured time. Karaugh loved it, the thrill, the wind as it rushed by her ears, the knowledge that if she stumbled she'd likely hurt herself, the entire thing was perfect. The young girl didn't know exactly where the statue was, but she knew of it. I mean it was iron and rust, the scent was pretty obvious. Anyway, the horse was some kind of god or something and when he left the world he allowed his body to stay and now it's this rust bucket. Her mother said others here worship it, and the filly wanted to see what that looked like.

She had forgotten that she told the other filly, Kaide to come too. It hadn't been meant as a command... but it wasn't really a question either. She glanced behind, only to see the mare just keeping in sight, no rush, just... there. She pulled her legs in, slowed down and turned, moving back to the filly. A look of dumbfounded confusion on her face, You some kinda slow. Don't you like to move or something? Karaugh cocked her head to the side, and her face stayed blank. She really lacked social skills, but it bothered her not. In her opinion, if she couldn't say what she thought, then what was the point? "You have more special thingys than me, I got nothing"

It wasn't until then she noticed Kaide seemed spooked, a little off center. Since she was usually so self-centered, it was surprising that she noticed at all. mostly she thought the filly was weird, and thought about ditching her because she mostly didn't feel like being bothered with caring. But there was a curiosity that inched forward from the depth of her mind. she wanted to know what caused the filly to shrink back so. "Hey...you ok, Kaide?"
