    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

    "But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    { i thought the past would last me; but the darkness got there too }
    they are black, in the night their blackness is a consuming void. Well his is. But she shares that world with him. Often its only the nervous look in her eyes that tell him she wants to dissapear. Dissapear into that world that he creates. This night that is exactly what he has done. On the beaches, against their silvery waters, and crystal sands. He is all but nothing. A void of darkness. Her dark purple wings and elephant tusks glint against the light, along with her darkly purple mane and tail to match. Their mother lays nearby under the alchove of the rock, where the statue stands. He is not amongst the women in their dream world. No this is his time, this is his hour. This is his world where he is king, and no one can defeat him. This is time that others cower. This is the time that others scream and beg for mercy. But from what? From creatures like him.

    They were like him, preditors in their own right, but none had the senses that he did. None could know the sheer power that their every cell could contain. He did. Its a lonely world, he could give that, but at the same time... No one dared bother him, thus far not a single foal had come to pick on him. No it was as if they almost feared him. Could they? Could they fear him? Was darkness something to be afraid of? He couldn't know. It was as if day was here for him. In their world of warmth and yellows, that is where he finds his own darkness, but at night... at night this is his realm the cool blue light, the quiet breathes of sleeping innocence.

    He gets up shaking off the power letting lie dorment within him, though containing it was harder than letting it loose. Everything about him wanted to stay invisible to the world, whether his mind wanted that or not. Even when he does use the power most still found it dificult to look at him, it was hard to keep the black coat in focus.

    She yawns wide, her tusks barely petruding from the curves of her mouth, but daily they grow larger, each day her neck grows thicker, accomidating for the heavy comodity of the ivory pillars. Her dark wings flutter at her sides. Her mother still dozing, her brother.... well he's up somewhere. She frowns for a moment. Where was the little brat anyways? Shaking the sand from her mane and thumping her tail against her haunches she stands to her wobbly legs, still not fully strong. After all it had only been a few days sense her birth, since her naming. She had yet to meet her father. Supposedly he was always presant for the coming of a new heir. Yet he wasn't for hers. Her mother spoke that the stallion must be simply confident in the new youngs ability to produce something good. That Anyx only produced the best in the herd. That she was sure that he would be around soon to name the filly and meet the other son, the grandson of his brother, whom was not in dirrect relation to Kirin in any way. Appearently the two of them where only half siblings. Yet that didn't seem to matter to mother. She was proud of her children, and hide them awya from the rest of the cove.

    They had no reason to know the secrets that were held in this small family, they were gifted, all of them. A pride that stayed in the dark. They didn't flaunt their abilities around, no they stayed away from the group minglings. They refused to go near the others. Only if Kirin ever deemed them worthy of coming around did they peek their heads around.

    But the solitude was growing irksome. She WANTED friends, her and her brother whispered in their his dark cloud sometimes about how nice it would be to meet the others. How niceit would be to know that there was more gifted among them. Yet here they were once more this night. Alone. Also alone. And that seemed it would never change. She gets up striding towards the unfocused blackness, she knows where to find him always. For her it is easy, he is the nothing where there should be something. Where you feel that there is something off that was him. She would always know this. This their little secret. The blue roan colt shows himself and she gazes at him with a smile. Hello, dear brother They never used names, they knew better than to give names when it was Kirins job to do so. No this was the one right that still respected as the herds ruler one descission in their lives.

    HE'S SO TALL, HANDSOME AS HELL
    HE'S SO BAD, BUT HE DOES IT SO WELL

    No longer does he come at their beck and call, no longer does the scream of a woman giving birth send him rushing on wing to find them. He has grown confident in his abilities to produce the best, why should he scurry about like a frantic dove?

    It's been days since he's checked on Anyx and her swollen barrel, likely she has already given birth. All the better, when he does find them he will be glad to have another fine trinket to add to his growing family.

    Today he lights the wind with his glistening lavender body, twisting carelessly on the calm, warm, summer currents. Nothing is better than soaring over the ocean, though it is not often he glides over anything else. Why shou ld he when the vast expanse of churning water was at his feet? As if bowing to him again and again on the beach, forever in relentless  curtsy to the Cove "King"?

    He finds them near the statue, a little alcove they call home, taking shelter from rain or shine as needed. The ground he touches in a quick caress, hooves melting into the earth with practiced care. He tucks his wings to his sides, folding them with care across the length of his body, turning his silvered stare to the children.

    Tusks to do not go unnoticed, especially since they are protruding ever so from the maw of a horse. A child, his he hoped, seeing none else in the general vicinity so young. Her wings bring a smile to his velvet lips, he did so love the gift of flight, terribly biased as he was.

    "Anyx you do not disappoint me.." He calls, still studying the girl outside.

    { i thought the past would last me; but the darkness got there too }
    His blue coat flecked with black, her black coat outlined with the luster of dark purple mane, tail, wings, and the ivory points of tuskes. They stayed close, whispered to each other in the dark, he could see her beauty far better in the cover of night. As she slept he often found that he was gazing at her a little too often for the comfort of any normal brother and sister. But her and their mother were the only horses he had seen outside of the one time Kirin decides to make a show of himself. He wasn't sure what to make of the cove, the trio having been isolated from the others for far to long. Was it on purpose? Did the others fear them? Did Kirin want to hide them for some unknown reason? He couldn't stand there and let the other male rover over the females in his life without making his own presence known. Moonlight glints off his blueish coat. Before flickering out again, then he is partially there, not fully invisible any longer. Anyx steps up to the two two males and her daughter, Raelynx is a wise teacher. She offers, What would you have me do with these two She continues to inquire. He shuffles closer to his sister, unsure that he is comfortable with the conversation at hand.

    Who are you He glances over the purple stallion biting his lip in deep thought. His hide flickers out of sight once more to focused on figuring out what the adults were saying. His sister how ever is curious and wobbles over to the male taking a sniff in greeting. Stubby wings fluttering for balance. Her head shooting upwards in suprise. Swiveling her head around to look at them she steps up to Kirins taking another sniff. Awckwardly put the two together in her mind. What are these? She flutters the stubby things once more lips catching in teeth as the tuskes hook her lips in a strange position.

    He drew close to his sister protective of her, and wary of the stranger. His darkness leaking over her small frame sheilding her from sight as well.
