    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

A bit too curious the young girl had ventured away from her mother’s side. The first few days she had stuck close to her mother, safely hidden away in the sauna cave that the Chamber king had created for them. It had been warm and cosy, a lot better than the cold that had been outside. Even though Igni wasn’t born early in the season, the snow had still been there. The cold, the birth, it had all taken a lot of her mother and they both had needed the rest.

But now the snow was gone and the blue roan girl had managed to sneak away, taking advantage of her mother’s blindness. Little did Igni know that Roan – her mother – would perfectly be able to find her even without sight. And then her father wasn’t even mentioned. The gray stallion always had a clear view on what happened in the Tundra, his daughter suddenly disappearing would probably not go unnoticed. Yet that didn’t change the fact that it felt like she was sneakily exploring the world on her own, without her parent’s knowledge or permission.

Igni’s first steps outside the cave had been hesitant, a bit overwhelmed with all the new experiences. The scents, the view, the sounds. It was all so very exciting and her curiosity was far stronger than the fear. The outburst comes after a few more steps. With a loud whinny – an audible burst of her excitement – she throws herself into the air. She crosses around, not really going anywhere in particular, kicking air as she throws her hindquarters up in the air.

Just as suddenly as she had start moving she stops, sides heaving heavily, ears perked up and eyes focussing on something in the distance. Igni’s shrill whinny sounds in a greeting she hops a few more steps forward, before standing still again. Curiously she studies the figure a bit away from her, not yet finding the courage to move closer and too curious to run back the sauna in which she knew her mother would be.
