    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Nothing is coming to rise (Bryn&Igni) - any
    #1
    Brynmor

    "With my speechless calm eyes."

It is as the smile upon his lips is held up high by invisible strings. He just cannot stop himself from smiling, he’s almost grinning even. Although it is his second time as a father he’s once again full of fatherly love. Yes, he truly loved Henson too and he would love all his children alike, but the small blue roan child at his side was the product of his and Roan’s love. Reaching down Brynmor brushes his muzzle through her mane, gently nipping at her hindquarters before continuing to walk again.

He had taken her out for a stroll, to serve two goals at once. Like this Igni could set free some of that energy that had been bottled up for a few days and Roan could rest a bit. Brynmor knew she would want to be around their daughter and he also knew she would manage herself, but he simply could not be not worried. The labour had taken its toll on his lover and she had already seemed so fragile. The formerly blind stallion knew that wasn’t entirely true, but he wouldn’t risk Roan’s health. So he and Igni were now out, away from the cave that Roan used to rest. ”Don’t venture off to far, I want to show you something.” Nudging her again he encouraged the blue roan girl to explore, while he would casually walk after her. She nods towards him before trotting away, her giggle is carried towards him by the wind and causes him to smile.

Brynmor wanted to take the opportunity to show her around the Tundra a bit, also hoping to run into Henson. He wanted his son to meet his little sister, hoping that the appaloosa painted colt would easily roll into the big brother role. But the most important thing for now was show her the safe places of the kingdom. The gray counselor would not tell her with places were off limits, knowing that the prohibition would only spark her curiosity.

It was almost like relieve washed over her and took away everything that had bottled up inside of her. Finally, finally she was allowed to get out, to leave the safety of the cave behind her and move into the big world. The field were green underneath her hooves and little did she know that they soon would be covered with a white blanket of snow again. Of course Igni had already tried to nibble on the green sprouts, but she had soon realised that she didn’t like the taste at all. The curiosity – she had seen the adults do this – had driven her to try, but in the end she had quickly ran back to her mother’s side again.

The encouragement from her father – the one with the wolf paw on his chest – had been enough to set her off. The blue roan had made a flying start, jumping as far as she could, before trotting further away from the gray stallion. Yet Igni never went too far, sometimes stopping dead in her tracks and sometimes just crossing back in his direction. ”Please play with me, dad” she challenged Brynmor, goofy smile pulling on the corners of her lips. At the same time she jumped up into his direction, rearing up at his side before bouncing off again.

    "Nothing is coming to rise."
