Countless years ago, when Beqanna was nothing but a territory of deserted soil, a pair of stallions, a black Thoroughbred and a chestnut Arabian, arrived. Though they both had extraordinary knowledge, there was much diversity between them. The main one was their loyalty, for the chestnut, Swish, represented all well, and the ebony, Black Magik, represented all evil. They each established their own realm, with a few lands in-between, now known as herdless, joining, and such.

As others arrived, drawn by the openness of this new realm, Black Magik and Swish were among the recruiting stallions, discovering mares they loved. Soon, Clue became the light queen, and Mirage, the evil. As others joined, more herds were formed, and more lands discovered. Descendents were also born, the first dark heirs being Black Illusion and Isami, and the light successor being Eloquent.

One morning, while Black Magik was out exploring, he came across the light princess, Eloquent. He tried to steal her, but was halted by Swish. As Swish left, Eloquent lingered behind, and became friends with Black Magik. He decided to take her to his homeland, and then changed his mind. Wanting to make her happy, he returned her back to his homeland, and was guaranteed Eloquent when she grew old enough to leave by his longtime foe Swish if peace between the two nations would remain during her existence. They both approved, and looked forward to a spell of tranquility.

Unfortunately, the period never came. As she grew older, suddenly, Swish and Eloquent disappeared. Life progressed as normal, herds growing, additional horses immigrating to Beqanna, foals born, until a piece of land, Elegant Lagoon was discovered, lying between the two realms. In a fierce battle that followed, the darks won the land, the herd of Cazador fighting the hardest.

After another bit of peace between the nations, Justice joined Mirage as queens of evil, more horses joined, further herds were founded, and additional lands discovered.

Then, there seemed to be a collection of horses who seemed not evil, nor light. They didn't fit in anywhere, and always traveled, yearning for peace between the lights and evils. Therefore, the neutral realm was founded. Fiel Uno became the king, and many flocked to join the neutrals.

As the neutrals progressed, Gavin replaced Swish as the light king, and Get a Clue replaced Clue as the light queen, ignoring the rightful heir, Wreathed.

A short while later, the mystical fairy called forth several horses to complete quests for her. Lone Star was one of those chosen. He accepted and accomplished it, saving a mythical princess, Banat er Rih, during his trek. She was being whipped and tortured by humans as he arrived. Lone Star heroically chased and fought them off, liberating her. She transported him to her sire and dam, the legendary mystics Ziyadah and Tabari. As a reward, Ziyadah gave him what he desired for, a wing, horn, immortality, and the princess, Banat. They returned to Beqanna, and Lone Star and Banat er Rih became the first mythicals in Beqanna.

Soon, a mare named Prelude also fulfilled a similar quest, granting her a horn, wings, and immorality also. In this fashion, the first three mythicals were founded.

Soon, a stallion named Black Hole completed a quest also for a chance to become a mystical. However, he chose not to, and returned to this herd.

Following, another steed, Marked, rescued a mare, Kharis Nadia, another princess in a similar fashion. In several events that followed, his herd became Alkaios Eops Pheri, The Great Horse Army.

Then, Black Magik, the evil king, who was away quite often, offered Marked to be the general of evil, leading the darks when the king was away. He accepted, and his herd, Volcanic Village, became one of the central kingdoms.

However, one gloomy day in winter, Black Magik's herd slowly disappeared... leaving the two queens, Mirage and Justice, and two fillies, Etched in Stone and After Midnight. Soon, one of his belles returned, by the name of Favorite Trick. But as she arrived, Mirage had sadly borne the news of leave... and had gone, with the promise of her position and adoration back if she ever returns.

Soon, another battle breaks out... after some fierce fighting by both sides; the darks were once again victorious.

However, that battle may have ended differently, for a grave and important disaster soon occurred. A small band of humans have somehow found the land of Beqanna. Their camp was on the outskirts of the wilderness, too far to see from any wild land. However, the two-legged have a horrid tendency to explore and take over. Some accidentally wandered onto the land of Beqanna and attempted to catch some horses to train. Some were caught, and even tamed.

Soon thereafter, the town became a city, Beqannaville. Though more tame animals and humans arrived, the wilderness became once again safe, for catching was only allowed in the joined passage, The Last Frontier.

It was then that the mysterious light king, Gavin, was dethroned by Wreathed, Swish's rightful heir. Bringing his small herd back to his rightful home, Wreathed began restoring the honor to his father's name.

Not long after, the dark king heard rumors that his father, Nothing Personal, had entered the Beqanna vicinity. Indeed, he was in the tame side, owned by a boy named Josh Walsh. There, Nothing Personal had sired two fillies, younger half-sisters to the king of evil.

However, Josh soon passed on, releasing Nothing Personal and one of his fillies, Reflection. Reflection disappeared, but Personal Magik appeared.

Sadly, Black Magik was unable to see his father or sister. The first and original dark king died on the 3rd of Year 9, at 7:15 am. His many children survive him. The eldest, Black Illusion out of the queen Mirage, had sadly disappeared, thus bestowing the throne on Isami, the second born.

Beqanna was normal for a little while, until a mystical princess, Thaqib, had spoken her thoughts. Sired by the mystical king, Lone Star, and out of the foreign princess, Banat er Rih, Thaqib had her thoughts on a band of evil mystics. She consulted Isami about it, and soon became allies - or was it something more? Isami was already allies with the neutrals, and thus, Thaqib received the help of neutrals and darks.

However, her father, Lone Star, did not want war, especially against his own daughter. So, he gave his permission, and Thaqib began her exploration for a new land.

During this time, the humans and tame animals had faltered in their existence. Despite having the first human child ever born in Beqanna, they were sadly forced to relocate. On the 15th of Year 10, the tame and human sides were no more - much to the rejoicing of the wild horses.

A few years had passed before the regal evil king, Isami departed also - two of his original mares Penn (the queen) and Al Sha'ar (a mythical princess by Lone Star and out of Banat er Rih) along with him. Skipping a few of his first children, he deemed Zion out of Die Another Day, one of his father's mares, the third king. With Zion came many rumors, one that he was siding with the lights. Angry, Mid-Term Paper, an elder sister out of the queen, Penn, attempted to overthrow him.

Meanwhile, turmoil was occurring also between the two mythic groups. Cut, the king whom Thaqib appointed to rule alongside her, and Lone Star, the original and now light mystic king, engaged in a death duel. After a long and hard fight, Lone Star dropped dead, and his son Tanaiste became the second light mystic king. Heartbroken, many of Lone Star's mares died along with him, including the mythic princess, Banat er Rih. Like Isami, Lone Star skipped many of his earlier foals that were supposed to become heir, sparking some controversy.

After another spell of peace, Thaqib disappeared and was presumed dead. Since Cut had no real authority over the crown, Thaqib's son Carnage (sired by the second evil king, Isami) took the throne. However, Cut, Carnage, and their herds soon became well known throughout the lands for various reasons.

On June 29, 2003, however, Carnage and Cut engaged in a battle at the lonely beach, their whole lives flashing before their eyes. In the end, however, Carnage murdered his adoptive father, ending the life of yet another king.

It was with this that Carnage and Cut's 'gangs' decided to begin Beqanna anew. The current royalties would be dethroned, and a battle for the best would be held. Though some resistance was met (especially by the souls of the original kings), many felt their greed and lust for power push through and began training.

From far and wide the inhabitants of Beqanna gathered, each seeking to make a name for him or herself. The battles were fierce and sometimes bloody, and when the carnage stopped, a new line of Beqanna rulers had risen.

In the Amazons, Grim Reaper successfully fought off all advances for the title of queen and continued to reign. In the stallion lands, Quill quickly defeated the others. In the light kingdom, Purely Twisted continued on the line of Swish while Nihilism rose to power in the light mythical land. Successfully seeking to protect her parents’ kingdom, Believer won the title of queen for neutrals and Solomon won the neutral mythical title of king. Sinai was reward with the title of dark king and the former dark mythical queen’s brother, Batal, rose to the power of king in the dark mythic lands.

Not soon after, however, the famed Amazon warrioress queen, Grim Reaper, was declared insane and eventually attacked a friend of hers, fellow Amazonian. The other mare was saved by her adoptive daughter while Grim Reaper tumbled into the rocks below. Sadly, her daughter Aelia took over the title as Amazon queen.

Ere long in Year 21, however, the light mythical king was presumed dead and the throne vacant. Yet, the truth birth daughter of the mare Grim Reaper attempted to kill in insanity received an indication and took up the title of empress of the light mythic horses. Birthed of a trilogy sapient and holding the sacrificial blood twelve, her name was Allanna. Not soon after, the dark king, Sinai, also departed, leaving his son, Aubade, by his true lover, Starling. It seemed as if death was plaguing the royals for soon Aelia, the young Amazonian queen, died as well, dubbing her newborn daughter, Antarda, the heir. This sparked some controversy with Aelia’s half sister, Pandora, though it was finally settled as well.

It was during this period of unrest that a trilogy of dogmatist mares, Shiphrah, Kuriosake, and Echnida, found the opportunity to begin a revolution within the land. Now the battle is beginning and the future of Beqanna sits tentatively on a thin thread. What happens next is up to those that currently reside within the boundaries and any that happen to arrive during this era of strife.

For many a year the two groups clashed, though only several major matches were fought. During this period, six horses rose up to command the opposition against the three sisters, Allanna, Lone Raven, Guitara, Asylum, Sul’dam, and Texas. However, nothing majority occurred and before long the dogmatists became jaded of their prophecy in Year 23, leaving Beqanna in shambles as they disappeared. Now Beqanna struggles to rise again from the ashes.

For the next four years Beqanna struggled to rebuild itself. All seemed better, except for the passing of many a ruler. It began in Year 25 with Allanna, a Disruption Opposition leader and the Light Mythical queen. Shortly after asking Armand to share the throne with her, they both passed away. She left behind a single blood heir, a colt, though chose her friend’s daughter, Skye, to rule instead.

In the Evil Mythical side, thrones changed as well. Cade and Lorelei were no more and the young queen Gallows obtained the throne. The same was in the land of the evils, where Neigu and Gabrielle was overthrown by Thade to rule as queen. With the rising of these three queens, the latter two especially, it seemed Beqanna had entered a new age where queens were no longer the inferior to kings, but instead, equal, or perhaps even more powerful.

There were some kings left, however, with a favorite being the popular Solomon, first neutral mythical king. After a long life, he died at the age of eighteen near the beginning of Year 27, leaving Coca Cola and Penninah to rule as the second generation of royalty. Following his death, the young light mythical queen, Skye, perished from a disease. She had no king that ruled alongside her, though at her death, appointed her secret love, Spectrum, to the throne.

Then Cillian with a band of two of his friends attempted to take the stallion throne, though Incanus successfully warded him off, though just barely. It was the same with Parvati, who attempted to win the light throne from Twisted Symphony, her uncle. The pair battled fiercely, but it was brief with the young Parvati soon emerging the victor. She was not a harsh ruler though, and allowed the defeated Twisted Symphony to retain a position in the army of her kingdom.

Gallows, the Evil Mythical Queen who had taken over after her twin abdicated in her favor, sucessfully ruled the Evil Mythicals through a raid and formed the Lujayn, an elite group of fighters that included Black Intrusion, Concessa, Remisis, Lies and Alibis, Bliss, Las Vegas, Demogorgon. Soon after, however, Gallows left the Valley alone to defend themselves against Abomination's raid. Afterward, the Valley voted former General Demogorgon and former Lady Defective to the new King and Queen of the Forsaken Valley.

Queen Asylum of the Amazons had reached her ninth year in ruling the Amazons, of which she decided it was time to step down. For two years she had three potential future Queens; Lady Myasthenia, Peace Keeper Alex and Prague. After much deliberation she chose Prague to be the future Queen and Alex to become the next Lady of the Amazons. Queen Asylum then left to help Abomination and his troops overthrow Queen Gallows of the Forsaken Valley.

Meanwhile, Spectrum, light mythical emperor, was captured in a raid by the evils and evil mythicals. During this time, Sidus and Scissors, twins and the only grandchildren of the former light mythical queen Allanna, became joint emperor and empress of Dewdrop Deserts. They immediantly sought reforms and began training a military force to rescue Spectrum, though they were looked at harshly for taking over. Before any serious changes could be done, however, Scissors was raped by Caleb, a prince of the neutral mythicals. Sister and brother were only further shaken by by Caleb's mother, Queen Penninah, stealing the newborn princess Craft, thus securing a rift between the once friendly good and neutral mythicals. Unable to take the politics further, Sidus abdicated the throne to take the job as General of the Air Force, leaving Scissors as a solitary queen. Sidus, however, was soon murdered afterwards in a clandestine area of Beqanna by his friend's son, Bateau. During this time, the famous Carnage finally died at Machine's power.

There was a time of peace, the Lull. Kings and queens came and went, but troubles were minor, until there was a shock to the very core of Beqanna's kingdoms. Old rulers and spirit-beings fell from the sky and took the thrones, stars fallen to earth to help the land. In the Amazons, Prague's rule came to an end with the arrival of Hel. In the Dewdrop Deserts, Gaia arose from the sands, dethroning The Archer and Moose. In the Dazzling Waterfalls, Moselle replaced Murphy. In the Chamber of Evil, Havoc became king and Elvira queen. In the Forsaken Valley, the dreaded Carnage rose from the dead and called the evil mythicals to order.

Carnage began building his forces immediately, and the other kingdoms were concerned about his strength. As it turns out, they should be; he attacked the Forbidden Dale and the Chamber of Evil, bringing along undead warriors brought back from beyond to help him to victory. He placed Ryatah, a mare of the Valley, on the throne of the Forbidden Dale. In the Chamber of Evil, Havok sought out Hel of the Amazons and begged her for a ruler to take his place. The Amazon women offered Malady, who became the child-queen of the Chamber. She soon yielded the throne to Mudo and Psylence, who ruled for a time before Psylence held power alone.

Seeking solace from Carnage and his cruelty, Sage, former queen of the Valley, followed Ryatah to the Dale, a son fathered by Carnage in her belly. When Sage refused to give the boy up, Carnage attacked, killing Ricochet, lady of the Dale, and blinding Ryatah in his fury. Ryatah continued to hold the throne until the arrival of Charlemagne, who turned both Ryatah and Ashley into statues within the Dale and took the throne for herself.

Meanwhile, within the Forsaken Valley, Carnage was growing tired of ruling. He left after almost 10 years in the Valley, giving the throne to Glassjaw. In the Dazzling Waterfall, Nikkai took the throne, but was successfully challenged by Texas. In the Forbidden Dale, Charlemagne and her lover Fenrir passed the throne to their child Alayne. In the Amazon jungle, Hel passed the throne to Twinge, long her chosen heir and successor. Gaea of the Dewdrop Deserts returned the throne to The Archer, who soon appointed 9/11 to rule beside him. In Heaven's Gates, undisturbed by the rulers who fell from the sky, Plume and Agetta had passed the throne to Devonae, who was then overthrown by Buck and Belgium. Belgium soon perished, leaving Buck alone. Liefde and Laika, lord and lady, banded together to restore activity, and soon took the place of king and queen. Within the Chamber of Evil, Eight appeared and erased Psylence's memory, taking the throne for himself. He appointed Nenana queen, choosing her over Lady Anaxarete.

In the Forbidden Dale, queen Alayne held a competition for a stallion worthy of being her lover and ruling by her side. She ultimately chose Hoth, but both Alayne and Hoth were frequently away from the kingdom. Finally, overburdened by the pressures of the throne, Alayne begged her Lady and friend Delicate to kill her. Out of mercy, the mare obliged, and Alayne met an early death on the shores of the Beach, leaving Delicate the Wind Queen as her successor.

After a short time, Atrox, former general of the Chamber of Evil, was raised from the dead by an unknown magic. He challenged Eight for the throne, and won it. When Nenana disappeared unexpectedly, he was left as sole ruler of the Chamber of Evil. The Archer stepped down from the throne in the Dewdrop Deserts, and Greace was chosen to replace him. Around this time, there was a confrontation in the jungle. Twinge had killed Igraine, a former mare of the jungle, after Igraine had begged Twinge to do so. Enraged, a stallion named Firefoot attacked Twinge, thinking his mother Igraine's death had been murder. Firefoot, a member of the Dewdrop Deserts, sparked a confrontation with Queen Twinge in the Amazon jungle. Enraged by his behavior and the behavior of other members of the Dewdrop Deserts, Queen Twinge, along with Atrox of the Chamber of Evil, Glassjaw of the Forsaken Valley, and Yorke of the Hidden Tundra joined together and raided the Dewdrop Deserts. Each chose one fighter, and ultimately the raiders triumphed. The Dewdrop Deserts became a subkingdom of the Amazons.

Soon after, there was unrest within the Forsaken Valley: queen Glassjaw stepped down, leaving Myrine, a complete stranger from the Chamber, in her place as queen. Under pressure from challengers left and right, Myrine left the throne to Glenora, who soon fell to Kei in battle. Kei fought on behalf of Vampyric, who then took the throne of the Forsaken Valley. In the Dazzling Waterfall, Core killed Texas and took the throne, ruling with former Amazon queen, now current Dazzling Waterfall Queen Prague. In the Forbidden Dale, Hoth was challenged by Angel's Despair, and lost. Angel's Despair took the throne, ruling beside Delicate. Around this time, the Forsaken Valley raided the Dewdrop Deserts, then led by King Greace and Queen Starmiss.

Then, a terrible storm swept through the Amazons. Queen Twinge evacuated the sisters from the jungle, but she herself refused to leave her home. King Atrox of the Chamber of Evil, her lover, ran from the Chamber where the Amazons had taken shelter to stand beside Twinge as the storm destroyed them. They ended their days as king and queen, but also as lovers, and horses of Beqanna turned out in record numbers to pay tribute to the legends.

After Twinge and Atrox fell, Rouge took the Amazon throne and Tyrain the throne of the Chamber of Evil. Angel's Despair left the Forbidden Dale, leaving Delicate to rule alone. Prague left the Dazzling Waterfall, giving her position to Tipu. But in the Chamber of Evil, Tyrain held his daughter Clarece, Liefde's love. Tempting Liefde with images of her in pain, he stole the king away and used his command of shadows to rip Liefde's soul from his body. In confusion, Heaven's Gates turned to their Comte, Bond, who acted as King in Liefde's absence. Eventually King Liefde was returned to Heaven's Gates a mere shell of himself, which eventually resulted in the Chamber of Evil raiding Heaven's Gates. The raiders lost, and terms were decided. Tyrain relinquished the throne to Lady and General Bheith. Around this time, Vampyric left the Valley, giving the throne to Lady and General Librette. In the Dewdrop Deserts, Greace appointed Werewolf to rule beside him instead of Starmiss. Oliphander succeeded Rouge in the Amazons.

But Librette's time as Queen of the Forsaken Valley was short lived. After being weakened by Core, the magician-King of the Dazzling Waterfall, Librette was found by Carnage who killed her without even knowing her name. He took the throne for himself, holding it on a whim until he found someone better for the position. He eventually chose Ardiana, formerly Councilwoman of the Dewdrop Deserts, convinced to defect by Librette during the Forsaken Valley's raid on the Dewdrop Deserts.

In the Forbidden Dale, Delicate finally became weary of the crown and passed it on to Katana, long General of the army and devoted kingdom member. Core left the Dazzling Waterfall, giving little explanation to Tipu and leaving her to rule alone. Bheith appointed Trashlip, a son of Tyrain and trusted member of the Chamber of Evil, to become King at her side. But the new Queen of the Valley, Ardiana, ended with a controversy between the Forsaken Valley and the Amazons. Under pressure to resign, Ardiana chose Marie, leader of the Wisemen, to become the next Queen of the Forsaken Valley.

Bheith stepped down as Queen of the Chamber of Evil, leaving the throne to Trashlip as King and appointing Anaxarete as her chosen successor and Queen. The Dewdrop Deserts saw a change in monarchy, with Greace and Werewolf stepping down to appoint Wings of Fire and Somebody in their place. Trashlip soon grew tired of life as a King, and left Anaxarete as Queen to rule with Gullivan as King of the Chamber of Evil.

Apparently discontent with her demise, the Forsaken Valley returned Librette to life using its inherent magic. She was soon back in the ranks, and promoted to Lady after Queen Marie's long absences from the Forsaken Valley began to take a toll. But when pressure from the Chamber of Evil forced the Forsaken Valley into a bad position and relations with the Forbidden Dale began to sour, Marie abdicated and left Librette as Queen of the Forsaken Valley once more. Meanwhile in Heaven's Gates, Liefde had finally given out after the trials of many years on the throne, and appointed his daughter Joelle as Queen, leaving the position of King vacant. Joelle quickly asked her longtime lover Magnus, a son of Twinge and Atrox's love, to join her as King and Commandant of Heaven's Gates. He accepted.

In the Chamber of Evil, Gullivan abdicated, leaving the position of King empty and Anaxarete alone on the throne. Somebody also abdicated, leaving Wings of Fire to rule alone in the Dewdrop Deserts. In the Forsaken Valley, Librette again gave up the throne, leaving it to Fleshlip, leader of the wisemen. Fleshlip led alone for a while before asking her lover Chernobyl, Librette's son, to become King of the Forsaken Valley and rule by her side. Although a loner who had never learned to love his kingdom, Chernobyl accepted out of love for Fleshlip. During this time, Core returned briefly to rule beside Tipu in the Dazzling Waterfall.

After months of leadership in Heaven's Gates, the burdens of life in a light kingdom finally weighed upon Magnus. He fled Heaven's Gates, leaving Joelle alone on the throne. He found Librette, the former Forsaken Valley Queen who shared many of his emotions, and together they went to the Forbidden Dale, where Magnus served in the army before Joelle found him and brought her wayward love back to Heaven's Gates.

But after Magnus left, Joelle found herself struggling with the duties of Queen. Perhaps sensing her weakness, Core abdicated the throne of the Dazzling Waterfall and came to Heaven's Gates, displacing Joelle and erasing her memories. He took the throne for himself, but gave it to Dogstar shortly thereafter. Joelle was left to wander alone, eventually remembering and reuniting with Magnus. They returned to Heaven's Gates, although they lived as private citizens rather than royals. Around this same time, Oliphander gave the throne of the Amazons to Nativity, and Wings of Fire appointed Bubble as Queen of the Dewdrop Deserts.

For a short time, there was relative peace. But that peace was shattered when Fleshlip died in childbirth, trying to bring her second child with Chernobyl into the world. Driven mad by the news of his lover's death, Chernobyl fled, leaving the Forsaken Valley throne to Asthenia. Wings of Fire soon left the Dewdrop Deserts, but Bubble stayed on as solo ruler for a time before appointing Kain as King of the Dewdrop Deserts. Anaxarete, longtime Queen of the Chamber of Evil, also stepped down, appointing her son with Trashlip, Cronus, as King, and Kennedy, once Queen of the Forsaken Valley, as Queen. In Heaven's Gates, Spyglass threatened Dogstar, and rather than struggle Dogstar yielded the crown and Spyglass became Queen. In the Forbidden Dale, Depp was appointed King alongside Katana. Spyglass ruled for a short time before she chose a virtual stranger to Heaven's Gates, a stallion from the Forsaken Valley named Everclear, to rule alongside her as King of Heaven's Gates. Shocked at the choice, members of the Amazons went to Heaven's Gates, but were rebuffed by Spyglass. Heaven's Gates was raided, and although the light kingdom ultimately won, the damage was done. Spyglass resigned, leaving Everclear as sole ruler.

After the raid, Cronus stepped down from the Chamber of Evil throne, leaving Kennedy to guide the kingdom alone. In the Dazzling Waterfall, the pressures of ruling finally became too much for Tipu, who begged her lover Tason to kill her out of mercy. He obliged, but instead turned her to snow, allowing a permanent reminder of her for the members of the Dazzling Waterfall. She appointed Dillan, longtime Lady, in her place. During a crisis that kept Dillan away from the kingdom for a long time, Cullen was promoted as temporary King. Chosen in a Beqanna-wide search for the next Lord of the Dazzling Waterfall, Cullen continued to serve his kingdom as Lord after Dillan's return. Soon after this, Bubble retired from Queenship in the Dewdrop Deserts to go to the Forbidden Dale, leaving Kain to rule alone.

During the raid on Heaven's Gates, Magnus had been injured by a vengeful Trashlip, who then stole and raped Joelle. Angry, Magnus sought out the help of Librette and they rescued Magnus' family. But Trashlip's revenge was not complete; he came after Magnus and Joelle and killed them in cold blood, before killing himself. They ended a dynasty of rulers with their death, and left a generation of Beqanna to mourn.

Asthenia also grew tired of the throne's burden and appointed two new rulers for the Forsaken Valley: Expelliarmus as King and Vampyric as Queen. Although the two detested each other, they made an effective ruling pair. Everclear also laid down the burden of the throne, giving Heaven's Gates to Julian, an old member who had been away, as King and Lylah, a young daughter of Magnus and Joelle, as Queen. Controversy erupted over the appointment.

But before any of the controversy could be resolved, the storm came, striking out across Beqanna like the wrath of some unappeased God. No kingdom, herd, or horse had been spared its wrath. They have lived for years with nothing but their own problems, the land untroubled and dormant around them. But now, it sprang to life with a vengeance, and it seemed out for blood. Their blood.

For days Beqanna was ravaged by the storm. Lightning split the once-calm skies, striking down at the land below. Rain lashed at the lands, hard and driving, causing earth to slide, mountains to crumble, and forests to be washed away. The earth quaked, sending rocks tumbling and opening new chasms in the ground. And when the storm clouds finally cleared and the rain subsided, it revealed a Beqanna that was strikingly different.

Beqanna had been changed forever.

When the rain came and the thunder rolled, the Amazon jungle was the first kingdom to feel it. The sisters scrambled to escape as the thick branches of the jungle, once a friend and shelter, became deadly weapons. They ran to avoid entrapment, fleeing the once-safety of their home as they hurried out into the open. Forced onto dry land, they had no place to go. They watched, with sad hearts, as the Amazon jungle became a pool, collecting rainwater and turning into a dangerous ocean of quicksand and rushing water. Once the tempest ravaged the Amazons, it came for the kingdom of stallions. The first hint was a groaning in the ground, a quaking beneath the hooves of the Hidden Tundra's men. They had the sense to flee when the first bits of ice came crashing down, and did not stay to see the mudslide begin. They heard, from a distance, the thunder of the Tundra's landscape sliding, the crunch of earth against earth as the permafrost gave way.

After the Tundra, the storm continued on to leave no other kingdom untouched. The Heaven's Gates were leveled, the Dewdrop Deserts flooded. The Dazzling Waterfall was shifted, and the Forbidden Dale ravaged. The Forsaken Valley was devoured, and the Chamber of Evil tumbled. Then and only then, when the whole of the land was left battered and broken, did the gale recede. The horses of Beqanna emerged slowly, trying to return to their homes. Many were devastated to find that they could not. The Amazons and the Tundra were no more, left completely uninhabitable. The other kingdoms had been changed, reconstructed; their citizens returned to find pieces of each Kingdom remained, but they had been forced together in a strange parody of their former existence.

The new Beqanna was uneasy, but they had no choice but to carry on with their lives. What else were they to do? But not all was well, and slowly the bustle of post-catastrophe life dwindled. Many were listless, remembering the glory of Beqanna in its prime and unable to comprehend the differences of this new world. The Forbidden Waterfall fell leaderless first, followed shortly by the Forsaken Chamber. It seemed perhaps the storm had doomed Beqanna to die after all, albeit a slow, agonizing death.

Faces of the past crawled out of the woodwork, accompanied by the survivors of the storm and faces new to Beqanna as well. Families were sought, friends were comforted, survivor stories were traded, and slowly they began to rebuild themselves. Then hope came to them: a rumor spread through all the lands that there was to be a gathering in the meadow, to discuss what to do; how to proceed. Strangers gathered from near and far: young and old, those in power and those seeking to make a name for themselves. Many ideas were presented and discarded, but no consensus was ever reached. It only resulted in raising tensions and pitting members of different factions against each other. Hope of reconciliation dwindled as they scattered to the corners of their world once more.

New leaders and new names were elected for each of the three remaining territories. The lights fashioned themselves the Dewdrop Gates and elected the quad of Langston, Gunther, Jenson and Lylah. The neutrals called themselves the Forbidden Waterfall, and raised the triumvirate of Larva, Dillan, and Depp. Finally, the evils called their new domain the Forsaken Chamber, and came to be led by Atrox.

In the Dewdrop Gates, The Archer and 9/11, rulers of old, returned from the grave, brought back by the gods of Beqanna to restore the Light Kingdom. Resurrected, they led the kingdom from silence to strength, becoming the next rulers, King and Queen of the Light Kingdom. With the intentions to rule only until a true King and Queen were found, they molded the land and renewed it. Within months, 9/11 announced that the young scholar Zuclopenthixol would take the place of Leader of the Peace Caste and that the mare Chill would serve as the Lady of the Gates. Three years passed, and when The Archer and 9/11 felt they had achieved their purpose they named Zuclopenthixol and Chill their successors. Shortly after the succession, a mare named Sport confronted the new king, announcing that she found him and Chill unfit for their new positions. Sport asked asked Zuclopenthixol and Chill to renounce their titles and declare her as Ruler of the Gates, feeling that she had devoted more of her life to the kingdom than had the King and Queen. When both refused to give up their thrones, she fled; declaring that the Light Kingdom was no longer a home to those it should be. Flurrying with activity, the Gates seemed to grow in number and for a time there was peace within and outside its borders. After an uneventful time of peace and prosperity, Zuclopenthixol left inexplicably in haste, and soon after Chill left as well.

In the Forsaken Chamber, Queen Aranea realized that while her own kingdom was far from powerful, the light kingdom was even weaker. Determined to use this opportunity to her advantage, she sent Ryann, the captain of her army, to take over the Dewdrop Gates. A one-horse-army, the young Ryann declared herself Queen of the Dewdrop Gates with no opposition from the conquered but a single bitter conversation with a Light mare, Talien. Ryann ruled the kingdom for three years under Aranea's guidance, and the two of them used the might of the Evil Kingdom and its new colony to renew the life in both kingdoms. Then one fateful day, Aranea disappeared and Ryann presumed her dead or worse. She declared the Dewdrop Gates to be a free kingdom once more, no longer under the rule of the Forsaken Chamber. She ruled in peace for many years, eventually with her king and lover, Von, at her side. She bore him triplets: Seraphina, Laphye, and Felton, but the birth of three foals was difficult, and she passed away before her children reached their first birthdays.

In the year 99 BQ, three stallions, Black Sabbath, Barenaked, and Charger, appointed themselves the Three Lords of the Tundra in the first attempted revival of the Bachelors. They led for three years, before Black Sabbath declared Deluge, a member of the bachelors, to be the next King. However, Deluge had vanished and shortly after the rest of the members did as well, and the Tumbleweed Range lay abandoned for many years afterward. Texas was the next to try and revive the Tundra, having been a member in his youth. He stayed for less than a year before abandoning the effort as futile. Decades passed before another tried what all those before had failed. Ronald was the next to try in 114 BQ, and he moved the Bachelor's headquarters to the neutral herd land of Forest Frontiers. He too failed to bring the Tundra back to its former glory, and many began to wonder if the Bachelors were cursed. Today the legendary warrior stallions of old are just that, a legend, nothing but a bedtime story told to young foals.

With Aranea absent, a stranger named Nation came in and declared that the Forsaken Chamber was now under his command. Very few opposed this idea as he seemed capable of being an adequate ruler. However, the commotion in the Chamber brought the former monarch, Aranea, back from her hiatus. Her return was not triumphant, the kingdom had lost their faith in her and stood by Nation as their new king. He settled in and soon began a friendship with the leaders of a rebellion that was stirring in the Neutral Kingdom.

In the Forbidden Waterfalls, the neutrals sought to rise against their former Queen, Nekana. Rocketdog and Oceantree, the leaders of the rebellion, enlisted the aid of the evil King Nation, who promised to support them in their mutiny. However, many of the members of the neutral kingdom were not ready to support Rocketdog and Oceantree's claim to the throne, and others wondered about the chance of Nekana’s cousin Ryann bringing the light kingdom to her aid and sinking the whole of Beqanna into war. Nekana refused to step down and found support from a majority of her people, thus dissolving the rebellion and re-affirming her as their Queen. For a time afterward, the waterfall fell silent, though it was by no means an easy silence as Nekana and the attempted mutineers shared the Kingdom and tried to bring it back to its former glory.

In the neighboring Evil Kingdom, Nation had disappeared and during his prolonged absence the mare Lady in Red appointed herself Queen. She was met with some opposition, having recently murdered a mare of the Light Kingdom, Naeva, and stolen her child, but eventually the whispers stopped, and she settled into her rule. Alas, the temporary quiet in the kingdoms was not to last. Queen Nekana disappeared, and the horses by the waterfall became fewer and fewer by the day, until those few that remained were summoned together. The young pony Flintfoot was voted Queen of the Forbidden Waterfall with a remarkable lack of violence, in comparison to other recent ascensions in the other kingdoms. Under the rule of their new Queen, the Forbidden Waterfall endeavored to revive their strength once more.

Eventually, Oceantree left the Forbidden Waterfall for the Rolling Sands, a herd land in the neutral kingdom. There she attempted to revive the Amazons. Having lost his beloved Ryann, the Gates' King, Von, promptly abdicated his throne and handed it to his trusted friends; Crimson Fury and Laelou. Life appeared to have settled into more tranquil state, though the lull was not to last. Light prince Felton left the Gates after impregnating a Chamber mare, whom he refused to identify to his sisters feeling that his responsibility to his child was stronger than to his siblings. Von was slowly losing his mind, a disaster which culminated in the rape of Oceantree. Enraged and humiliated, Oceantree ran to the Forbidden Waterfall for aid, hoping to find it there in her former home. The remaining Amazons called for Von to be handed over to them as a prisoner. His children Seraphina, Laphye and Felton debated their fathers' future, but as more and more time passed, the Amazons grew more and more disquieted by the events. Eventually, a bargain was struck. Von would be brought to justice by the Amazons, in return for no retaliation against the Gates. Finding this a fair deal, the two parties agreed. Just as things looked to be settled, Von was murdered by Oceantree's lover, RAB. No tears were shed for his passing - he was back with his beloved Ryann once more. However, Felton was left feeling foreign to his own sisters. Their tensions would last for years to come.

Soon after, Beqanna was once again on the verge of war. A series of successful and unsuccessful steals were volleyed between the Gates and the Chamber, ending in the evil Queen Lady in Red seeking to capture the Gates, as revenge for the light princess Seraphina stealing two children from the Forasken Chamber, one of them her daughter. Lady in Red then allied herself with the revived Alkaois Eops Pheri, led by Felton, who was revealed to be the father of the evil Queen's daughter, Starlace. All seemed lost, until the Lights, led by the General Sariel and one of the triplets, Laphye, rallied their forces, ready to take on the Evils in battle. The scales were finally tipped when the evil princess, Starlace, stole the child of the neutral Queen Flintfoot and her General. Faced with the neutrals now willing to join the fight to recover their princess, the Chamber was left with no choice but to renounce their claim upon the light kingdom.

Then, as the three great kingdoms of Beqanna were ruled by three great Queens, Laphye of the Lights, Flintfoot of the Falls, and Lady in Red of the Forsaken Chamber, a miracle all but occurred. The lands shifted again, opening up from the darkness into a world more beautiful than the inhabitants had ever seen. The old kingdom lands returned, but better than before. And with the return, a new flock of mythics came.

Now comes the rebirth.
A new world has begun.
This is the sunrise.
