The Ruins

It’s always quiet here, unnaturally so, with echoes of pain that might be only the wind. Strange rock formations scatter the area, and marks of struggles and battles are everywhere, though no one speaks of what caused them. The place is vast and abandoned, with few plants and fewer animals. The only things that whisper of life are the flood places, as if the ocean is rising up to claim the dead land.
