- Raised by her mother, Cress, though she sneaked away often to the Playground
- Met Clayton and Rhaegor during her first trip to the Playground and became fast friends with the two of them
- Nicknamed Rhaegor "Sunny" since he was mute and couldn't tell her his name, and the two started playing together nearly every day for the first several years of their lives
- Once Rhae fell in love with Chryseis, Dawn realized that her feelings towards him were more than that of a friend
- Rhae tried to convince her to join Tephra with him not after she joined Hyaline (and then Silver Cove) to be closer to him, but when she admitted her feelings, the two had a falling out and he left her alone on the beaches of the Cove
- The next day, she was found by Litotes and the two hit it off immediately, quickly becoming fast friends and part-time lovers
- She soon gave birth to Austra and Isilme, and not long after that had a falling out with Lie. She also semi-adopted Oriash during this time, though the filly was soon stolen away to Loess
- She began to fall for an old friend, Clayton, and fell pregnant with Athena and Nolin, her second set of twins in as many years.
- During this time, she was named Queen of Silver Cove with Clayton as her co-ruler, though the stallion never appeared to claim his title, and abandoned her to rebuild the East and raise their children
- Upon Clayton's return, she admitted that their relationship was mostly one-sided and she never truly loved him, as she felt he couldn't compare to Rhaegor
- When Litotes took over Pangea, her rule was threatened and he wanted to take the kingdom from her, but they compromised and ruled Pangea together for a time
- Soon after, Darkling was born and Dawn adopted Lie's son, Ghaul, as her own
- After a period of inactivity, the pair was ousted from the throne by Anaxarete, and Dawn returned to the Cove, where she had left Isilme to rule
- She recently gave birth to her fourth child with Lie, a colt named Sloane
