Eviction as usual, even with the promise of a surprise, lags behind the group as they traverse the jagged landscape. I watch as the winged pair must bend and twist to move through the rocks unscathed. One plus to having wings that only show up on a whim, I guess.
My pace is matched to Amen as he leads the way. I do not dismiss his disapproval of my questions asked to Crucis, in turn flashing my own narrowed gaze in response. A light snort escapes my nostrils just before the celestial mare replies to my curiosities. My flame laced face tilts in wonder at how far, far away is...
The thought is fleeting though as they come upon a lair with an oddly shaped glowing rock nestled in some makeshift bed. My movement stops as I inspect the anomaly from a safe distance. An ear flickers to Amen as he elaborates on what exactly they were looking at.
With mention of them being aunts and uncles, that the rock was not in fact a rock at all, but an egg, my face ignites into a blazing inferno of excitement. "Y-You mean there is a BABY in there??" A squeal escapes my mouth as I look to Eviction for his reaction.
The usually reserved yearling watches the egg with curiously glowing eyes. A gentle smile tugs at his lips as he walks past the group and creeps closer to the egg. Stopping a pace away he looks to Amen seeking approval to go closer...

Amenadiel's warm smile lit up his face as he nodded to Eviction, giving him the signal to come closer. "Yes, Escence, there is a baby in there," he confirmed softly.
The egg swayed gently, almost as if in response to Escence, as if to affirm its lively presence within.
With a soft smile, he expressed his trust, "I believe both of you will take excellent care of him or her," casting a glance at them, noticing their wide-eyed curiosity and bubbling excitement. "It should be hatching soon."
The starry mare turned to him, her expression radiating happiness. "Congratulations, Amenadiel. I'm certain it will be in good hands with these two looking after it," her gentle, pale hue blending with the emerald glow of the egg before her.
As Crucis responded to Escence, flicking her ear toward them, Amenadiel listened with interest, "To answer your earlier question, no, I do not have kids. I would like kids at some point," she confessed, a smile spreading across her face as she noticed the filly's excitement at the idea of more young ones to play with. Amenadiel chuckled, "You sure will have your hooves full with all these babies around."
Amenadiel gazed out of the cave, watching the sun beginning its descent. "We should start heading back so your mom doesn’t worry about you two," he said, gently nuzzling their backs.
As Crucis turned to leave the cave, followed by the twins and then by Amenadiel, he turned back to the egg, taking in the pulsing glow that illuminated its nest before leading the group back to the lake.

He draws a bit closer, enticed by the soft likeness in glow exhibited by the egg. It reminds him of his own glow, his own powers and he wonders just what kind of powers this little one beheld.
Not daring to touch it, he allows the aura of his magic to extend outward cautiously. Caressing the creature with a kind hand. Feeling its exuberant health within his proverbial palm, he smiles again. He feels something that is concealed by the protective shell and only will be revealed in time.
Amen gathers them to head back to their shelter and he obeys as usual. With his head low he settles in behind his sister who characteristically is rattling off a list of more curiosities...
How did it get in the egg? Did I hatch from an egg? What color was my egg?! Fire colored I'd assume... She bounds along excited to tell Mother about their adventure today.
