eIt doesn't take them long to make it to the Gemstone Ridge. Njenyi had kept a careful eye on the other spotted stallion, but he had made no threatening moves.
"Your name?" he asks the mare, his voice rough and deep. He prefers to remain silent, but knowing the name of the mare that is now carrying his foal is probably a useful thing.
When they arrive in the center of the herdland, he raises his head and calls out for the other two mares. Now the three of them can keep each other company, and Njenyi can resume normal herd stallion activities. He'll patrol the edges of the land and keep out danger, and keep in the mares. In only a matter of days he's managed to do what few zebra stallions can, and gathered a properly sized harem without having to spill a a single drop of blood to do
