Desolation comes upon the sky // Breckin - Scorch - 10-17-2018

WATCH THE FLAMES CLIMB HIGH INTO THE NIGHT

In the newness of motherhood (if motherhood could be considered new when the child in question happened to be your tenth or eleventh), she'd grown complacent in her duties. Not the the extent that her title deserved to be revoked (for she'd brought in Woolf after all), but almost. When she'd caught wind of that which had occurred between the criminal, her son, and her great nephew, she realized the truth of that statement: that she had grown complacent in her duties.

Complacent to the point that murder had taken place in the confines of her own fucking home.

After finding out about Klaudius - the means by which that finding out happened being null - Scorch did not hesitate. Waiting only for Blue to be settled in their thicket and sleeping soundly, the Dosh set out determinedly, scenting for Breckin and following her trail rather easily. The Khaleesi had no reason to hide, and Scorch had no reason to not find her quickly; and so when the two found themselves face to face beneath a three-quarter moon, neither ought to have been surprised.

Reaching for the mixture of light and darkness created in the moonlit night, Scorch carefully enclosed herself and Breckin in a small box of twilight through which their words ought not to be heard, unless a more powerful magic happened upon them. It would not hold if one were to press against it with any force, but for the purpose of this encounter, it did the job sufficiently.

"Would you care to explain exactly why the men in this kingdom think they can act with an authority so full that they torture a captive to death?" Her tone is dangerously quiet, riddled with a seething anger that barely made itself known for fear of bursting into fury. "I could have executed him in a single heartbeat if that had been what you wanted. But you had not given the order." Clipped, harsh, as if to speak with any length or leeway would result in something worse. "So explain what happened and what is going to happen because of it, and quickly. I did not allow you to take the throne just so men could flaunt their impulsiveness to the point of murder."
