The spotted mare grumbles to herself as she toils to climb the steep stairway that leads to the top, but perhaps this time the faeries will grant her the power she seeks, something to help her bring might back to Icicle Isle.
Finally reaching the top, exhausted and unkempt, Hexen waits.

Perhaps they look for a more willing, open heart. Perhaps they look for those who do not grumble and complain on the way to ask for great power. They are given so much and take it all for granted. The lessons of the past have been lost to time, as is always the case with mortals. Such short lifespans, and shorter memories.
