She doesn’t really mind the darkness – it’s the monsters you’ve got to watch out for. Even that, though, she doesn’t find all that off putting. Rather exciting. And what if you die, one asks? Well, she doesn’t really mind that idea either. We’ve all got to go sometime, right? It’s probably quite the adventure – unless of course, it’s the end of all adventures completely. That’s a rather dreadful thought and Padmé pushes it away. Those are the kinds of thoughts someone must avoid, she tells herself in a diligent inner voice. She’s quite good at self-scolding, keeping herself in line. She’s done this once before in the world of light and living. Before the gates of the underworld spilled forward, she met a strange shadow creature here – handsome in his own creepy way. She’s always been quite privy to the creepy boys.

Well she’s here again. She forgot where he had meant to take her, if anywhere, and so she cannot even hunt him down now to make good on an old offer. This is no time to be without a tribe. No time at all.

Padmé makes her way to what she thinks is about the center of the Field. She can hear others grazing on what little grass is left from before the winter and before the sunlight disappeared altogether. It’s slim pickings, for sure, but its something to do while she waits for someone to stumble upon her in the pitch black. Small fires flicker in the distance, but others are already huddled around them and the whole thing looks completely undesirable. She would rather face the chill, the dark, and stand alone than do that.
