I've been trying to find my way back for a minute - Anuya - 02-20-2022

Beqanna and Anuya both have been going through some changes, though she privately thinks the ones happening with her are more interesting. She had taken a very strange walk in the woods and then woken up with not only a bright, golden halo but also the ability to shapeshift again. The second is a familiar thing - something she had been able to do since she was younger and had only lost when she and Sidhra had gone travelling across magical borders.

The first is a very entertaining addition and a also very distracting one. She is used to the stars on her coat glowing but she has not yet adapted to the new source of light and often finds her eyes caught on it.

Tonight, she explores one of the changes that’s happened to the land - weaving in and out of the stones that grew near the southern coast as an owlet nightjar. The small form makes sharp turns incredibly fun to do and she does a few laps, simply enjoying the cool autumn air and the fun of flight, before finally feeling curious enough about the stones to get a closer look.

She lands on one and attempts to twist herself upside down to get a good look at it. Her small bird feet are more suited for gripping twigs and branches than stone, however, and she promptly falls. A louder-than-necessary and very undignified shriek escapes her as she tumbles and Anuya flashes back into her natural body - stumbling a little as the momentum from the fall breaks.

She shakes her head, her long ears flopping a little to either side of the halo that now orbits them, and then without looking around, picks a direction at random and walks in it. It’s a well-known fact that if you pretend no one else is around, that means they didn’t see you make a fool of yourself.
