It does not take her long to seek the Mountain. Her mother may be gone from this land (something that Iris does not mourn), but her spirit still lived. Moreover, and perhaps most annoyingly, there was a dead tree in the middle of the Chamber that was supposed to burn. The magic entity that her mother left behind had been that tree - a relic of the past and a promise of the future. While Iris has never mourned her mother, that did not mean she lacked family loyalty. She could see why her mother had loved the Chamber so, even if Iris would likely never love a land quite the same way. Still, there was appeal. And still, her mother was likely raging in the underworld that her tree did not burn where it ought.

That is what brings Iris to the base of the mountain early in the morning, eyes cast upward for the long climb. She has no traits that might aid her here, though that was not and never would be how the mountain worked. The climb was simply part of the trial, and she does not hesitate. The day creeps on, her legs growing weary, though the dead climb with her. They urge her forward, encouraging their long-time friend. They know the importance of this tree and eventually, many hours later, Iris crests the top.

”I come to request that Straia’s magic entity, the burning tree, be returned to its rightful home in the Chamber.” Her voice is not demanding, not loud. She simply comes to stand at the top of the mountain and state her request, entirely unsure if any would come to tell her it was done or if it would simply happen. But she waits until the ghosts grow more excited, passing along the message from one to the next that the tree in the Chamber was bright with flame. She grins before making her way back home to see it.
