a quote goes here
Somewhere far out over the Northern Sea, a dragon flies.
Spring had unsettled the winds and tides, a powerful churning of the seasons that created the perfect environment to challenge the skills she had been building. The brewing gale is strong, but she wants to prove that she is stronger - that no amount of cold rain or sea spray would lessen her power.
The day is still young, and while the challenge of navigating the turbulent winds is a serious one, she is nowhere near her breaking point. She had plenty of energy left to maintain this form for hours more, no matter what hurdles the brewing storm threw at her.
But despite this knowledge she begins to feel a change. Her head feels light, and she blinks against the darkening of her periphery vision. If that wasn't enough, the sound of gulls laughing grows deafeningly loud, even though she had seen no other travelers on the wind. Gritting her teeth, Locheed snakes her head to the south, trying to determine how far off the shore was. But as her skull tilts, her vision darkens, and she never sees the slip of land beyond the waves.
Her body convulses, every muscle pulling and shrinking. The dragon writhes and curls in on herself, compacting it a small orb of energy and carbon. The black sphere whistles across the sky, following the direction she had been turning and falling lower.
She hits the earth like a comet, and stardust erupts around her. The stones ripple from the energy she displaces, and rose-tinted smoke seeps from the scared land she had struck. But she is herself again, and within the debris, she rises, still feeling the threat of Chaos Magic swirling around her. She doesn't dare to move, not yet, and when the fragments of iron and light settle, a petite brown mare stands on shaking legs.
The magic glitches again. She is a girl, naked, standing on two legs, a bird, a mare again. Her heart hammers and she blinks away the galaxies in her eyes, trying to see if anyone is near, if this is happening in her head, or if it is some magician's trick.
