When the voice sleuths from the darkness Claudia notices the gentle glow. The sudden presence of another doesn’t alarm her, but delights her. Not in the way it might if the stranger were not also kelpie – something she can feel, see, smell, know right away. “Is it?” she smiles, her voice having a certain reptilian hiss as she turns the other’s greeting around to ask if the hunting is actually worthwhile here.
“Mmm,” she purrs, “I hope so.” she moves like an eel to come stand beside the other woman, grinning to show glowing, razor sharp teeth. She lets scales flash and disappear, turning from fur to shiny scales like water moving over her coat. She feels no need to ask more for now, letting her ambient eyes scan the dim forest ahead, watching for movement, sniffing at the breeze for flesh.
It's a comfort she can’t explain, being with another kelpie. She has had the feeling before, in Ischia, there’s some kelpies – her father being the most notorious and, ahem, virile one. He wasn’t very special to her, nor her to him, but he didn’t want to eat her…which is not the same courtesy his non-kelpie children get, she’s heard. She wondered how distant of sisters they might be, or cousins, or what have you, but she doesn’t bother to pry. She simply enjoys stalking the forest’s shadows for now.
