Words and witty replies continue to evade her as he speaks, her heart thrilling at the idea of him waiting for her to come visit and prove him wrong. But more than his words, it’s his touch that inspires responses from her she hadn’t known she was capable of - the hitch of her breath, the continued thunder of her heartbeat, the twitch of her skin and the warmth that spreads through her when they look at one another.
A delightful shudder runs through her as his touch trails down her spine and though her nerves are still there, dark in the corner of her mind, they cannot compete with what she feels when he says that wonderful nickname in that voice.
“Glow Worm.” She replies with a soft, shaky laugh before she turns to look at him - the sound fading from her lips as she sees everything she’s feeling reflected back at her - the intensity of that word in his voice, the intoxicating knowledge of knowing how much he wants her. The exciting and frightening weight of how she wants him just as much.
It feels like her heart might explode right there but she somehow stays alive, it somehow continues to beat and she remembers how to breathe. She moves and there’s nothing subtle about how she shifts her body through the water so the long strands of her tail brush against his chest. Her legs are shaking again but it matters so little now as his proper name comes out as a small breath that’s lighter than the mist that surrounds them “Tarian” - the word the caress that she can not reach his skin for right now, an answer to the question he had asked with her nickname and a command and plea of her own fitting into the syllables.
