    Assailant -- Year 226

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

As predicted Cascadia's worry increased after hearing the colts words, glancing to her foal who appear to have taken a shine to young filly if the appearance of her glued to her side was any indication.
Closing her eyes whilst taking a deep breathe she attempted to let go of the fear and concern that had a tight hold on her. Opening her eyes she finds the other mare watching her.

As Myrna speaks of Wynters safety a small smile takes over cascadia's features. That's all she ever wanted for her foal, all she ever wished for. She voices this to Myrna all I ever wanted was to find somewhere safe for her to grow up, somewhere she'd be free to run and play and have friend. Where she can grow up independent, strong and free to do as she wishes her gaze shift inwards as unwelcome memories come to the forefront of her mind, her voice hollow as she continues free from torment and pain, not dictated to or treated like a pawn in some politician game to gain favours over others, never having the freedom to do as you please, go where you want or love who you wish and if you dare to step out of line, if you can't run far or fast enough then punishment is swift and brutal, splitting... she trails off blinking once, twice as her focus lands back on her surroundings, her breathing heavy as she looks anywhere but at the other, realisation of what she had unknowingly just said settles in.
