    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

in love with being noticed and afraid of being seen; Wynters
    #3
Having grown up in a world where intangible magics were as plentiful as flowers, Ravin has never considered that others might not consider his sibling’s ability to make herself disappear to be unremarkable. But Wynters certainly seems interested, and she had reacted rather strangely to seeing him, he remembers.

“No,” he answers, with a pointed-toothed grin. “Nothing that you cannot see.” Extending one wing, he reveals the long pinion feathers that match the shades of blue and purple of his coat and feathers. The wings and feathers are a mark of his Stratosian heritage, as are his eyes, ever-reflecting the shade of the sky overhead. He’s not entirely sure where the teeth are from, or the mane that grows down the entire length of his back, but it’s not unusual for magic to take unusual forms, and Ravin does not give them much thought.

Ravin is truthful when he tells Wynters that he has no other abilities; he’s yet to discover that he had inherited the ability to turn others to stone from his father as well.

“Birds,” he answers when the younger filly asks what the birds will be, “but they’ll be very ugly. Bald, with really big heads and eyeballs that aren’t even open.”

“They’ll grow up to look like that,” Luvi says, her voice quiet as she gestures toward the brown bird perched nearby. It peers down at them with dark, beady eyes, clearly displeased with their presence.
