Maeglin appreciated beautiful things and there has been no shortage of them here in Beqanna. The pickings in Stratos had begun to feel a little slim when that tornado had brought them into this world. Now it seems like every day there’s someone new to meet, to be dazzled by.
He doesn’t think about them after he moves on, this attention is perfectly ephemeral.
It’s always felt so natural to live in the present. His powers are rooted in it, carrying him from one moment to the next and tethering him with the changing light in the sky. Nothing about him is constant.
And in that change he finds peace.
Today the day-accented stallion is wandering with no particular aim in mind when the sunlight catches on someone emerging from the forest. The gold mare is dazzling in the daylight and he cannot help but bend the light around her a little more so it sparkles, creating the appropriate setting for her.
Staying back to better appreciate the scene is tempting but Maeglin cannot help himself but approach, his sky-blue eyes bright. “The sunlight suits you.” His words match the light, warm and smooth. Perfected over a lifetime, sure, but in this moment they are true.
