They were happy together. As time passed Sahm and Newton had grown accustomed to being homeless. They didn’t particularly like it, but with everyone in the same predicament it could be worse. The two were together which was more to say then many other horses. Families were ripped apart, and they were lucky for discovering each other so quickly. Newton was resting his head on Sahm’s back while Sahm munched at a few blades of grass. If even another second of time had passed the bay roan would have fallen asleep, but instead the sound of stomping hooves forced his ears to perk and alert him. Newton lifted his head and looked directly at the mare approaching. Sahm, in his own world, only emerged from his meal when the weight of Newton’s head left him. ”Hel..” Sahm began to say, but before he could finish the mare growled an accusation at the duo. Their fault? Sahm huffed at the inclination. Newton’s eyes merely grew to an enlarged size. ”Excuse me?” Sahm said with slight irritation. ”Our fault?
