She’s been hankering after a fight.
She’s wanted to join the Amazonian army every since she was a little girl. As a young filly, she had heard the stories about the Amazonian sister’s glory and skill in battle, and she had wanted that for her very own. But her mother had forbade it, and even then Lyris had been able to see the wisdom in her words.
Back then, her abilities had been barely, if ever, controlled. She had unintentionally changed the weather with every tiny change in her mood, often times leading to dangerous consequences. In the worst of her tempers she had caused massive storms - sometimes destroying great swathes of the Jungle in her wake. She had not been ready to try taking on her more experienced sisters in practice fights - she could have killed them.
But now, years later, she is ready. She’s learned control.
Her orange-flecked eyes stare down the Falls warrior from across the mocking grounds, trying to analyze the other mare. She’s at a disadvantage here - the silver dapple warrior is full hand taller than herself. Not to mention the fact that, as an actual army member in the Falls, Tyrna likely has more actual battle experience. Her reported abilities could pose an interesting challenge as well - the enhanced strength and werewolf shifting will make her a formidable opponent. Of course, Lyris has her own ability that Tyrna will have to contend with.
She studies the mare for a short time, and then, for lack of any other ideas, charges her. Her hooves hit the hard packed earth of the mocking grounds, accelerating her into a fast canter. As she runs, she aims her left shoulder for Tyrna’s left one. She knows that if she hits, it’s going to hurt both her and her opponent, but hopefully with her smaller height, she will be able to undercut the mare and unbalance her. And if she does manage to knock the mare over, it could be the deciding blow of the battle. Of course, Turna could dodge her, but perhaps the lack of warning for Lyris’ attack will slow her reaction time. Hopefully the fact that she’s refraining from using her powers as of yet will surprise the silver mare as well. There’s actually a calculated reason behind that decision however. She knows how to use her abilities - she’s well practiced at manipulation the weather these days. But what she doesn’t know, is how to fight physically, body against body. And there’s only one way she can learn that - through practice.
After she’s attempted her attack, she continues past the mare to her own right, wheeling away as fast as she can in an attempt to avoid any counter attack. Hopefully she can get away unscathed.
