She kept coming so tantalizingly close to touching him. He ached for it, needed it. Yet, somehow they both restrained. Just barely. Beneath that almost-touch, his skin sang for her, twitching in eagerness to feel her. "Would it be so bad to unravel?" He exhaled a shuddering breath against her bare skin, at what she said, at the throaty sound of her voice, thick with a warming desire. Yes, this was what he wanted. He needed her to want him too. As badly as he longed for her.
"I would put you back together again," she promised softly, reaching for him again and stopping. A moan slipped from him, vibrating against her as he slowly explored more of her. With such agonizing care, discovered more of her.
She gasped at his little bite and his need for her soared. His breathing quickened. Mmm.. yesss Leliana, he said breathlessly into her, kisses becoming gradually more heated as he marked a path to the gentle curve of her shoulder, his chest pressing against hers. He lipped her, kissed her, nipped her, still careful not to rush. Taking his sweet time with her.
"Dovev. Why do I feel like you are frightened of me?"
Before he could answer, before he could tell her yes he was afraid of her, afraid of the power she held over him, but also that she should be the one frightened, he was violently ripped from her and thrown into a thick tree. He hadn't even heard the roar of warning. He shook off the dizziness, still weakened from his near-death that she'd healed. Furious black eyes leveled the gold-and-white, recognizing him as the bastard that had attacked him before without cause.
You! he roared, becoming the weapon he had been forged into and readying his stance.
"You don't even know WHAT you're playing with. YOU should be the one afraid," the stranger said to his Leliana.
Don't speak to her! he snarled, set to attack him when the man faced him suddenly. His eyes darkened further at his accusations, at his taunts to Dovev's memory loss. For now, he said nothing, sensing the man would not leave until he got things off his chest, until he said what he needed to say.
And then he talked about someone, asked if he could smell her on him. He breathed in reflexively, the fog in his mind stirred as it had that first day he met Leliana. Just a subtle shift. The slightest lock into place. He snorted uneasily, still afraid of releasing the secrets in his mind. Afraid of what darkness they would hold. Afraid he would lose Leliana forever.
The gold attacked again. Dovev ducked beneath the striking hooves, launching himself toward Leliana with a secret, driving fear. She was drained, could not protect herself with her healing. This was what the magician trained him for, protect something vital to him and kill swiftly. The man's back feet clipped him, bled him, knocked him a step aside. Dovev met him as they both reached her at the same time, throwing his full strength against the bastard and sending him a distance away before his bite could touch her.
But he didn't turn to fight him again. Instead, he raced off. A white-hot wrath was blazing within him. He'd tried to touch her, tried to hurt her. Dovev kicked into immediate chase with the intent to kill him, to finally get him out of his life and safely back to his Leliana.
