He felt her shift to leave, her magic sinking into him with a quiet exhale, flowing through him in recognized paths. He froze at the familiar heat, closed his wounded eyes, breathed in pain. Cured, perfectly healed, but bruised, his heart breaking. Why couldn't she just hate him, wish him dead and not whole. Why couldn't he let go, leave her to fend for herself.
