As each day passing Phoebus grows more and more curious of the world around him. Blue eyes finding the mountain of spewing lava on more than one occasion. His father warning him of the danger before he kisses them goodbye. A trip was to bring him far away for a few days so it was just mother and son.
Today she leads them off towards a lush meadow of Tephra. Far from the streams of melted rock that wind their way through the earth. It's best to stray far from the temptation.
As they come into the grassy land the sweltering heat of summer and humidity cause her to lift her gown of emerald and gold feathers. Allowing the breeze to flow beneath them and cool her core. Navy eyes look to her son as he comes up quickly from behind her. A chuckle at his playful antics. He bounds about her. A miniature version of his father. She smiles happily. Reaching her cream muzzle to brush along his firey red crest of mane.
Soon he is prying at her for a game of some sort. "Hmmm... How about hide and seek?" She thinks aloud. She giggles though after looking about the vacant field, "Well that won't work will it. Hmmm... How about..." Her features remain in thought but her mind is already made as she quickly reaches for him. Brushing her muzzle against his speckled coat, "TAG! You're it."
With a quick evasive move to the left, she lunges forwards. Heading for the beaches of Tephra. There they could run freely without worry...
Maintaining a lead over her son but not too far ahead as to discourage. They traversed over the land steadily. Their hooves clipping against the earth in unison. As the beach neared she couldn't help but marvel at the vast expanse. Each time she sees it she remains awestruck.
In her thoughts she managed to slow enough that the brushing of Phoebus muzzle against her skin was felt. He happily yells Your it, and the tables turn. She smiles again and chases after him. That is until they reach the bay she had spent the night in with Rou. Then she slows to a stop. Marveling in memories that hadn't seemed too long ago...
