Hyaline had grown far too boring. For all the forsaken paths and entangled foliage, Khaedrik fount not one thing new or interesting, not even the constant murmur of foreign voices chattering along the air. The idleness grew within him a tension, an impatience he had held in constant since the day of his birth. He moves away from his home, pressing through the thick air as though every step would otherwise become ensnared.
He leaves the gloom, depart from the shadows that seem to dote so passionately on him, this monster and beast. There is lunacy on the slopes of his face – and his shadows shriek in anarchic glee, for they know him better than any other of his kin. Ah, how innocent and youthful he seems, despite the jagged and flinty shape he is crafted in! The intensity that simpers in the depths of his eyes is one of terrible madness. Khaedrik chokes on that very same madness, loathes it and wishes for nothing more than to recoil into the tender gloom, spun of shadows and nightmares. To leave this world of logic and reason for a life that is no life.
Like this he stands; this young stallion of void-dust and stale apathy, alone in the middle of the forest-floor, ridden by some dilemma that exists only within the confines of his own terrible mind. The shadows twirl and dance wildly around him; sultry and begging for his attention. But he has none to give.
