    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

i heard there was a secret chord; ALL KINGDOM
    #7

Another kingdom meeting simply meant a chance for Jason to see his entire family in one place. He was most excited to see Fiasko and give her a warm greeting. His body ached for her when they were apart. His mind constantly wondered to her- to what she was doing, how she was feeling. In the recent past Jason was guilty of his uncertainties, but as Sahm and Sidra grew- as they looked more and more like his queen- Jason’s mind was merging to a singular conclusion. He wanted to just be with her and all others could be wiped away.

The urgency in Jason’s pace was clearly visible as he weaved through the heavy set trees and made his way to the largest one. The mother tree, the tree Jason had grown to hate, sat the center of his destination. Beneath its branches stood Mast, humbly waiting on his subjects. Jason;s head swayed, and his mind momentarily registered another horse standing beside Mast. It wasn’t until the foggy image cleared into a perfectly framed Fiasko that Jason felt his heart tug. His eyes narrowed at the pairing, standing so comfortably together. It wasn’t like Jason to grow jealous- but he would never be at ease with another standing beside his queen, his Fiasko. She stood beautifully still, and Jason with his swollen heart managed a standing spot beside Wichita. ”Hey friend.” He said while keeping one eye placed on Fiasko.

It was then that Mast finally spoke to the group. Jason’s name was mentioned which popped him out of his mental hysteria for just a moment. He settled a small smile on his lips and nodded toward Mast.  Wichita spoke graciously of the promotion- and Jason hoped by standing beside her the gratitude expressed would go for both of them.

The king then spoke of kingdom visits. Jason knew that he would be a good resource in the Deserts- not only did he know the magical queen, but he knew that being a magician would give him continued favor in her eyes. Annoyed, Mast said he would go there. ”Great.” Jason mumbled under his lips.

Reuen spoke next after Mast, and although she didn’t mention any kingdom destinations Jason couldn’t help but change his smile into a more genuine one. The mad girl had solidly claimed a spot in his heart. Wichita mentioned going to the Amazon’s and Dale. Jason inwardly laughed at the mention of the Amazons- good memories. Another voice soon matched hers in goals, and Jason merely observed the unknown stallion. The buckskin was purposefully mysterious- or so Jason thought. He would need to have a conversation with the new recruit at some point. A part of Jason was not only curious but also pleasantly enticed by the stallion.

Finally his queen spoke up, but with no acknowledgment of Jason. Jason simply blinked as his smile swiftly fell from his lips. He listened intently to Fiasko’s words. She spoke of the shift in magic. Jason had felt it when it happened, but he was unaware of the kingdom traits. Fiasko and Mast were on search for leaders- He registered the words. Mast and I, Fiasko and Mast, His Fiasko and Mast- His queen and Mast- They did flow together. Jason blew heavily out and shook his head as if he was attempting to rid his mind of the obsessive, repetitive thoughts.

A small filly spoke as he fluffed his mane- one that Jason could clearly see Witchita in. He liked the girl not only as a distraction, but also as a more fervent version of her mother. ”One day, young one” Jason said toward Tioga. ”One day, but as for now your bravery and spunk make you both courageous and worthy. Keep growing in that adventurous spirit and you will make the perfect warrior candidate.” Give or take another year and Tioga would be exactly what the kingdom needed, but as for now she reminded Jason far too much of Sidra. They were both so young, independent and gloriously ignorant of the harsh realities of life.

”I volunteer to go to the Deserts as I am familiar with the queen. I would also like to go to the Falls.”
