Changes were afoot. Not that that was anything new, just that today they seemed to concern him. They must, otherwise his brother was summoning him just to be an ass. Always a possibility, but not exactly Krom's style, so... changes it was. Not that he'd been doing much. Tephra afforded the pastel fellow a degree of careless luxury that had been welcome indeed. Sooner or later he knew it would come to an end, Krom would find some type of responsibility for him. To keep him busy. Or out of trouble. Both, most likely. Damn, today could be that day.
With truly impressive dalliance, Kwartz made his way to the volcanic heart of the kingdom, spying the dull metallic form of his half brother easily among the black and brown landscape. How Kromium didn't rust in this humidity was something he had yet to figure out. He'd walked here, the great feathery cloak of his wings held tight about him as he neared the lava floe Krom stood over. "You summoned, O Shiny One?" His cheery tenor called as he got within earshot.
Closing the distance further, he noted that, among the scent of brimstone and sulphur, there was also the bittersweet odor of charred flesh. Nose wrinkled in distaste, his brow lifted questioningly. "Having a bit of a barbecue, are we?" It wasn't hard to find the source of the smell, and he wished it was. Black and red cracked carcass of someone, crispier than most folk liked to be. Whoever it was clearly no longer graced the land of the living, and lingering on the why was enough to turn anyone's stomach. Someone had been pretty keen on ruining this guy's day. "Karat is going to freak if you're trying to show her this too. You know that, right?" His words were as bland and level as he could make them. Gods forbid the corpse was actually someone they knew.
