She held him back and he could breathe easier. He couldn't even imagine a life without her, if she'd been dumb enough to go on that quest without him and never return or stay all grown up and not really be his twin anymore. Terrible. All their life, they'd been each other's constant, even more than their parents.

She sighed and backed up, grinned at him for guessing what she wanted. Another adventure, some going out and playing.

"Yes! We should go somewhere. Right now."

He chuckled with a smile, snaking his head out to tap at her shoulder, nip sharply beside her jaw, then bolt away from her. He raced towards the water she'd been looking at, straight to the beach with his wings stretching out instinctively beside him and pumping with his movements.

It was probably the lightest his heart had been since their quest, and he was glad of it. He knew he was often too serious, but that was kind of just him. It felt nice to be able to let loose with his sister though when they were alone.

And sure enough, as soon as he caught someone in the distance he slowed and lost his smile, his dark blue eyes sharp and watchful. Two girls, it looked like. Maybe Brazen would want to meet them. One was black and white, and the other a gray grullo and white. His sister could definitely use more friends, so he tucked his wings back at his sides, just as red and cream as his tobiano, and approached them at a walk, fully expecting Brazen to go in all guns blazing with that bright smile as was her style.
