    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

and let me crawl inside your veins. I'll build a wall, give you a ball and chain.

From down the riverbank, she watches the spectacle that was the fanged-mare as she devoured the fish that lurked beneath the surface. There is an odd sort of fascination twisted on her face, because even though she wants to, she finds that she cannot look away. She realizes, then, that she hasn’t really crossed paths with…this part of the population of Beqanna. She knew those that were fully entangled in politics, or those with powerful traits that caught her eye (but they often went hand-in-hand with the political side). But she hasn’t really spoken with anyone that could be considered an outcast, or even just truly unique.

She supposes she should have been leery, since the girl was clearly not opposed to eating meat. But Starsin never really had been one for playing it safe.

She walks along the edges of the bank, and for once there is nothing calculating or insidious in the way that she watches her target. There is only a keen interest. It was late in the evening now, and even though it was still daylight the sun was low enough in the sky that the light was growing dim. Her dapples glimmered and glowed in this lackluster half-light, but it seemed to cast a shadow across her already dark blue eyes. “Do you always eat fish, or is this a special occasion?” She says once she is close enough, a single brow quirked and her shapely head tilted. There is no malice in her words, and the smile that teases at the edges of her lips is almost humored, but she is watching the other girl carefully, reading her reaction so that she may decide how to play the rest of the interaction.
