The green mare plodded into the field, she has been in and out of the beqanna lands, she has birthed far more foals than she likes to admit. She scanned around the field, it was a bunch of young mares, barely older than four years of age. She gave a snort and rolled her eyes, the mare was at least three times as old as them, finally after all these years perhaps it was time to settle down and find a herd. She wasn't saying she would be controlled by any stallion, but have a place to call home, and someone to protect her should she ever need it. And honestly, she really enjoyed having foals, just the fun of conceiving, not as much as the raising part.
She was in the heart of the field now, her face matched the color of the surrounding pine trees and her body the same as the grass around them. She was certainly a unique one and pulled in a lot of attention, but attention isn't always good. She continued to take in her surroundings, watching the young stallions try to impress mares, trying to convince them to return with them. A gentle laugh parted her lips, she was a silly mare back when she was young and was easily seduced by the first stallion to give her attention. She was much wiser now, but a little companionship never hurt anyone. She gave a gentle sigh as a breeze blew past, lifting her dark black mane off her neck before gently laying it back in place. She lowered her neck to grab a mouthful of grass with hopes she could find the perfect suitor.
