    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Chiral had spotted this island as he ad been moving along the coast. He could not tell from a distance if it was inhabited and decided to investigate further. A gentle shift in his weight was all it took to send him in the direction of the island. The wind picked up drastically over open water and the winged stallion had to fight a little bit in order to keep his flight well controlled. The distance wasn't great in in only a few minutes he had crossed the  channel between the mainland and the island. It was a densely forested place, and on first inspection the only appropriate place to land appeared to be the beach. Probably for the best, the Friesian stud reflected as he began to glide towards the ground. If this island is inhabited I wouldn't want to startle them by dropping down into the middle of their home.

Sand was a softer medium than Chiral was used to making a landing on, but it did not prove to difficult to set down. The stallion beat his wings twice, stretching them properly, before folding them against his body. Already he could tell he that if he chose to stay he would have to find a better landing spot, sand had already managed to find it's way between his feathers and it was most irritating.

His dark brown eyes surveyed the immediate area, the water was to his right, waves rushing against the shore in a pleasantly rhythmic beat. To his left was a wall of greenery, seemingly impenetrably dense. The smell of equine filled the air - so this place was inhabited.

"Hello?" His voice was rather deep and gruff, as though he was not used to speaking much. And truth be told Chiral was a rather silent giant of a creature. He prepared to wait until he was answered, for he was aware of how defensive some could get of their home lands. As a wanderer he had no obligations and could wait for some time; he simply wanted to see this land and hopefully address someone of some standing and negotiate living here, He quite liked the idea of an island home, it promised privacy.

OOC: Meant to post as Chiral but forgot to switch accounts. oops
