    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    With my speechless calm eyes,
    nothing is coming to rise.

Darkness, it is all around him. Even till the point that it actually starts to consume him. His sight had never been the best, but without any warning the day had gone from a cold but sunny winter day to pitch black. Brynmor was no longer aware of his surroundings, deaf to what might be said, even unable to move a single limp. He also wasn’t aware of his quickened breath – which wasn’t only due to his climb down the mountain – nor the shocked gasp that had passed through his lips. He just stood there, ears pinned against his neck and hooves planted firmly into the ground. Blind. He was blind again.

Never before had Brynmor realised how much he had started to rely on his sight, how important it had become to him to be able to see. Not only did he enjoy seeing all that life offered to them, but he had simply forgotten how to rely on his other senses like he had done before. Yes, they still were better than average. Sharper ears, more sensitive skin, a very good nose. Ever since Djinni had given him back his sight, he had never relied on those other senses to navigate himself around anymore. And now he had simply forgotten how to.

With another loud gasp the graying male comes to ‘life’ again. Body trembling, mind in overdrive. ”R-roan?” he eventually manages to crack out, throat suddenly dry and raspy, or perhaps hoarse was a better way to describe it. His non seeing eyes are moving around, desperate for any spot of light, anything that could give him hope or explain what was going on. But no, nothing. Snorting loudly Brynmor takes a few hesitant steps around, uncoordinated and unbalanced. ”Roan.. Roan where are you?” He can no longer see the love of his life.

He so desperately needs her now. To feel her soft coat underneath his muzzle, her sweet scent and comforting presence. Brynmor even knows where she is, or at least, where she should be, but he simply is too afraid to even take a step into her direction. He flicks his tail, nervously, taking shaky breaths and reaction too jumpy to every sudden sound. What the fuck was going on?

    BRYNMOR

OOC: Repost from a couple of months ago. He and Roan were supposed to make it down the mountain together after finding each other, but I guess we can just assume he lost her?
