    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    face to the sun

Tang's smile fades when Warrick speaks, and she realizes somehow, she has miss-stepped.

Confused, she looks to Amet. He seems to know this strange filly, but Tang’s embarrassment flairs when he calls her warrior queen, she looks away. The reference to a playful conversation they had in the spring feels out of place in the current company.

Quite suddenly the reunion is over.

Warrick is leaving, Molotov’s revelation must have been something Warrick did not want to share, even though he nearly said those things out loud with the way he touched her. But Tangerine had given more weight to his words than his body language from the start. But now he is gone, half way down the mountain, and she will not part with him this way.

Before she can turn, the flame kissed mare smirks at her, seeming to taunt Tang as she mouths Amet’s golden shoulder. All at once, Tang does not like the tall girl anymore. Molotov is treating Amet like a toy to be played with and possessed. But he seems glad to have the telepath near, so it wasn’t her place to make a remark. Amet was a man grown and could make his own decisions.

She fells frustration beginning to bubble in her chest.

A few hours ago, she had everything. Now she hopes she hasn’t lost them both.
    Maybe she was selfish.

Hesitantly, she takes a step back from the girl and her prize, searching his face like she has done so often. “I… need to go.” She says quietly, even though it’s obvious as she turns her back to them and leaves in the direction of the River.
