    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

(OOC: Sorry this took so long <3)

The journey to the coast was a long one, the mare often wishing she could just scoop up the small boy and fly off with him. Though she knew this idea was not fool proof, and would not end well. She stopped often, allowing them time to eat and rest, though as the kingdom came into view she sped up, careful to keep the boy close.

She allowed herself to feel proud as she arrived home, her ears pricked forward, head raised to the sky, green eyes peering out through thick locks of white forelock. They strolled casually along the coast line, the dun mare pointing out different types of flowers, birds, and fish that swam peacefully in the white capped waters.

After a few moments of her just staring out at the ocean, she turned to her son, smiling fondly at him.

    "What do you think Ardashir?"

Her voice was strong, her smile practically shining through the once weak undertone it held. She bent down, muzzle softly bumping the boys shoulder.

    They were finally home.
