    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

And there's a lesson waiting to be learned
the firestarters always get the burns
and the good guys never get the girl

Amidst the childbirth and nursing daze, so much happened in Hyaline that the white mare fails to keep up. There's multiple new smells in the air; smells of young, newborn foals, of new residents, all horses she doesn't really know. She knows Kagerus must have recruited one or more, and she learns to recognize the scent of Solace's twins, but still there's some more she can't really place.

Today she stumbles upon one such scents; suddenly she knows what's been bothering her about this one. But that cannot be - she said she left him with his father and, though Ilma didn't understand why she simply couldn't be his mother, that was a better alternative than what the white pegasus mare had feared. But is certainly deserves investigation and so, she follows it.

When she stumbles upon the yearling colt, she knows that is must be him. "Abysm?" she asks him, walking up to the young man - it's too bad she'd never met him as a foal, but maybe she can make up to it now. It wasn't really something that could be helped back then, his mother being somewhat scared of him maybe, he'd never made it into Hyaline, and Ilma wasn't in the position to leave. "It's good to finally meet you," she offers him with a warm smile. She's left her own colt around here somewhere, too - but he knew how to find her, should he awake. He's still too young for anything else than the obvious eat-play-sleep cycle, and with Hyaline full of watchful eyes these days, she didn't worry about Llowell too much.

and shooting stars cannot fix the world

    @[abysm] there you go Smile
Any fool knows men and women think differently at times, but the biggest difference is this: men forget, but never forgive; women forgive, but never forget.
