COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

This time the stallion is overwhelmed with the desire to steal.
The bay male lunges forward into a stretch as he tries to overcome the need to go back to sleep, he shakes himself violently as he moves forward, trying to get rid of any debris that still remains on his body.

First, the stallion visits the pit he had created, oddly, no sounds seem to come from it, it is perpetually silent as he comes close to the ledge, arching his neck to peer downward. He studies the pit and manages to spot small hoofmarks making their way up the steep banks of the pit, which meant that the foal must have found a way out or was possibly aided in escaping his trap.
Nevertheless, the stallion is annoyed by the witty escape, his disgust now clearly expressed on his fatigued face.
He will have to find the foal, it will be the perfect opportunity to take from him, to express his own anger on something smaller and innocent.

With the male's quick movement it does not take him long to find the small foal, quietly resting in an opening inside the forest, still seemingly alone though this time with a small stone structure to accompany him.
At first the stallion remains quiet and watches the small horse playing with the structure, he tilts his head at his bizarre antics and after a moment of complete silence he moves forward, his footsteps now audible as he enters the small clearly "Why hello there, I see you have managed to outdo me once again" the stallion grins, his smile wicked as he circles the foal in a predatory manner "I see you are still alone" he comments teasingly, ignoring the small stone structure for now.
As he walks the foal seems to freeze in place, terrified by the sight of the bay male who now circles him quietly.
"I see you do not want to speak to me. While that is rather rude, I shall take no offence" his tone is sharp now as he closes in, facing the foal directly.

The small horse seems to pull the object in closer, he seems attached to the item, as if bonded to it and in search of a motherly instinct.
The stallion flares his nostrils, almost annoyed at the foal's movement "I'm afraid I cannot let you have that" he sneers, lunging at the object and quickly whisking it away from him, stealing it for himself.

Aziz attempts to speak again but falters, failing to produce any type of argument as to why he would take the item from the innocent child, though he feels disturbed, almost angered by the presence of the youth.
"I hope you never find what you seek and rot in the depths of hell" he lifts his head, peering down at the small horse as he walks over him, his body carrying him into a trot as he leaves the scene.

On the way back he stops by the large pit he had previously created and throws the stone structure into it, watching it sink before returning to where he had previously slept. With his task complete the stallion felt whole again and started to drift off to sleep, happy to have succeeded at what needed to be done.

Aziz

—lost and forgotten—
