Winter in Beqanna. The frozen air greets his nose as he emerges from a hollow dwelling in the side of a craggy half-mountain. He shakes off stiffness of rest and sucks in a deep, chilly breath. His exhale is a thick plume of curling mist exiting him into cloud that quickly fades. It snowed just last night and his path is freshly untrodden again, only a small dent where it is well traveled by him and whomever he manages to bring back to his lovely little burrow. He descends down a small slope leading down to the lake and the center of Hyaline.
“Well hello.” Chemdog appears from behind the stallion, a crooked grin on his handsome face that remains half-veiled by his unruly forelock. He had missed his previous declaration of Hyaline’s snowy beauty, but would have eagerly agreed with him if he had heard. He waits to see if approaching might be allowed, standing safely a few feet away for the moment.
“Welcome to Hyaline.” He cannot help himself and rolls forward into a walk to approach the stranger. He adorns a trouble-maker sort of slant to his smile, his teal eyes bright. He keeps himself out of striking distance unless he’s invited closer, “I’m Chemdog – what brings you here?” he asks with a chipper, almost too chipper, tone to his deep voice.
