they screamed loudly enough to blind the stars
Although they prefer to hunt in the woods, they are not opposed to the more open spaces either. Day or night, the pair is growing a little bolder now. They have been hunting a lot lately, eager to fill their bellies with more than deer and lions. They have had small tastes of the horses here but it has been so long since they have eaten more than the occasional wing or limb off of one. The larger of this pair craves the feeling of a heart being crushed in her jaw, while the younger longs for more tender meat.
They’re taking a break from the caverns of Pangea and have come to this place in winter. With snow on the ground, the black pair stand out more than ever. They are uncomfortable with the cold though not enough to deter them. The armoured plates of their bodies keep of some of the wind, at least.

The largest of the pair growls, and their heads lower a little into a hunter’s pose. They remain side by side for now, approaching at a slow but menacing pace. A straight up charge is all well and good, but sometimes it is interesting just to see how these odd horse-creatures will react when they have the time to think and react.
They are not particularly hungry and that gives them the freedom to play a little with their food beforehand.
All the same, lips curl back to reveal gleaming rows of silver teeth - their intentions now well and truly obvious..
