LOVE COULD BE LABELED POISON AND WE'D DRINK IT ANYWAYS.
It doesn’t occur to her to be disappointed. She is too enamored with the idea that someone wanted to take her anywhere to care what it looks like, or if it wasn’t what they had been expecting. To anyone else, the charred remains of the isle would have appeared just as dismal as Pangea was, but to Dove, it was fascinating if only because it was someplace new. She had unknowingly trapped herself inside an imaginary prison – one where the bars were only made up in her own mind. She was so desperate to stay close to Draco, so desperate to be there if he ever decided to want her that she never left Pangea at all, unless it was with him.
Burnt and scarred, the isle was lovely to her in its own way.
She glances over at Saphris, and the apology that she can read on his face makes her chest twinge. “Don’t be sorry,” she assures him softly, stepping sideways to stand closer alongside him and to touch her nose against his shoulder. “Who do you think would do something like this?” She asks when her gaze sweeps the charred lands again, a concerned frown marring her pretty face. But when she looks at him again the sorrow is gone, and instead there is a tentative hope when she asks him, “Do you think the lights will still be in the sky tonight?” The river of lights, he had called them, and that is the one thing she wanted to see, because she is sure her imagination does not do it justice.
