    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Ischia’s main island, sometimes in jest called the “mainland” as opposing Beqanna’s largest island which also technically wasn’t a mainland, today was littered not only with shells, but with a male tortoise as well. The hot sands had caused the creature to slumber, his metallic golden shield almost fully buried in the sands, and his white body tucked safely within. Of the predators on the island, most if not all knew by now that the creature marked with metallic gold was a shifter, able to take any form as he pleased - and it would please him, should one of the fossa’s have attempted to eat him. It had pleased him, when he had been able to search Ivar’s island as, well, Ivar himself. And how satisfying had it been to find Aquaria’s child indeed - just as he suspected all along that the kelpie had been hiding something.

Nevertheless, that was all in the past now. The kelpie got chunked into a hole, and that was that. Although... he had been right about his offspring. Several were indeed predators, and Aodhán always tried to keep an eye on them.

Not right now, though. Right now, he’s content to lay in the sand with the shells, and nothing to disturb him... that is, until the sands seem to shift and a larger part of his body gets exposed to the wind and sun. He stirs then, popping his limbs back out and lifting an emerald green-eyed white turtle head to seek out what caused the change.

from the ashes a fire shall be woken
