    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Kiss me again
Kiss me until I am sick of it

Despite his “kidnapping” to Sylva and deciding to give the dark woods a go, he can’t help but come back to the Meadow. His first stop is checking in on his fae family and, surprise, they hadn’t really noticed he had been gone. “We figured you were passed out in a bush somewhere” was the standard response. “In a few more days we might have been worried” shrugs another but they figure he’s a grown stallion that needs to take care of himself. When he questions if they would even care if he came back, he’s met with “What do you think?” Since fae can’t lie they often hide their feelings or true intentions in riddles or wording their answers with evasive finesse. Sometimes it’s hard to decipher and in this case.. He’s not sure if they care or not.

After letting them know that he would be gone for a bit but would check in periodically, he moves about the Meadow. Not just ready to return back to the diseased forest. There’s quite a bit on his mind with recent developments. He’s not sure he’s the best fit for Sylva but Sabra seemed keen to keep him. It was nice… to be wanted. He’s still reluctant though, unsure of what exactly she will expect from him or what she might want him to do. There’s also the lingering memory of a dark spotted girl who glows like spring and when he thinks of her (which is more often then he would care to admit) it simultaneously pisses him off and drives him mad.

He’s lost in his thoughts, sober for once, when a dappled mare comes prancing up to him. It’s enough to make him lose concentration on whatever he was thinking to just stare at her with dark red eyes. Curved ears that had laced back while he was thinking come forward now, a few strands of long dark hair falling over his forehead as he just stands there and stares. There’s a smile on her lips and for the life of him he can’t imagine who she is or what she wants. She’s not bad looking, not at all, and seems close in age to him. He’s pretty sure they haven’t met before unless… Unless he had been absolutely wasted. Which was ninety percent of the time.

A groan slips from his lips as he rolls his eyes. Of course. Autumn had snuck it’s cold weather into the lands and nobody had really noticed the change of season since the landscape was still recovering from it’s time in endless darkness. Everything was already dead but the flirtation in the meadow was at an all time high, a sign of new life to come. He assumes now that this mare was someone he flirted with and can’t remember thanks to faerie nectar. From her prancing, it seems she wants to take the flirtation to the next level. Something he definitely isn’t ready for. Flashing her a thin smile, he tries to dismiss her. Nicer then he usually would. “As attractive as that is, I’m not in the mood today. Perhaps another time.”
