He has returned with the same weight of sorrow upon his ghost-winged shoulders.
His plight has not changed since his last visit: he still finds himself often surrounded by death. Although he has begun to understand that the cause is not exactly an outright curse upon him, it still burdens his heart to know that he is the common denominator in each instance. It pains him each time a sickened trees grows grayer near him or an unwell creature breathes its last hastened breath.
One might think he should have grown accustomed to this persistent plague by now, but he has not.
Oaks is a light-hearted soul himself and does not wish such illness upon others. He has returned today in search of betterment, of control over his as-yet unwieldy magic.
He stands as before, quiet and yet very much attuned to the power thrumming within the Mountain, in the earthy bones of it. He can only wait, and hope.
