    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

[open]  He's trying not to fall in love again, afraid of being hurt, heart hopelessly burnt
    #1
Betrayed, Ryde galloped as fast as he could far, far away into the field, where those who didn't belong meandered around. He was heartbroken to be one of them again. And just when he thought that he had finally found somebody...he slowed and collapsed on the dry grass, letting out a long cry of lost hope and then let his head fall, broken and useless.
He was so emotionally pained that he managed to get himself knocked out, and when he woke up from his deep, torturous slumber of grief he had a heart of steel. His mind would not let him die from the loss of a companion that he had only known for a day, and upgraded him so that his feelings could not be mangled this way again. He vowed that he would not fall in love again.
Ryde, feeling strong, got up, slightly embarrassed that he had allowed himself to do such a show of emotions in front of all of these horses. He shook his mane and tail and cantered around, eyes narrowed. He was cold now, but deep, deep inside, he longed for another companion. He wished that love could prove him wrong. He wished that love could prove itself that it was worth it and good. But it was hopeless, he told himself, stop wishing.
