    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

She Decided To Start Living The Life She Wanted

The bay and gold filly recently learned of her abilities to go invisible as she pleased. Of course like any equine who learned of there new trait she was testing out her abilities, the only way you could detect her was from the snow prints she left as she trailed through the icy Tundra. It was certainly a harsh winter in this kingdom, but she didn't know any different and grew accustomed to it. Romek and Maribel have been nothing but loving parents and she couldn't have asked for a better pair of equines to have raised her. Although they are now preparing for a blood foal of there own and it is easier for Espeon and Durotan to slip away from there view.

Today Espeon trailed away from her brother as well, spending some time alone for perhaps the first time ever. Durotan never left her side, the downfall of having a twin sibling, but she appreciated him and everything he did for her. She flicked her invisibility off and was now visible to others, the trail of hoof prints now made sense.

She stopped to stand still and shook her body, ridding it of the snow that piled up as it fell from the sky. The winter was so interesting to her! She leaped forward launching herself at the snow that fell, attempting to grab a mouthful but was only able to collect a few flakes. She thrashed her head around playfully and came to a stop again. The Tundra was a very busy kingdom, perhaps one of the most populated in Beqanna. She gazed around curious to if anyone was near by, she raised her head and allowed a whinny to escape and her gaze looked around for another to approach.

Spear and Spark have been intrepid in their travels through the snowy reaches of the vast North.
The snow drags at their feet, clings to the feathers that run down their legs - they both show their father’s heavy influence on them, and not just in the red eye that each of them has. It is as the snow makes heavy each step in their trekk, that they come upon another set of tracks. Curious, their put their noses to the snow like dogs and follow the trail of hoofprints. Spear is the first to fling his head up in surprise as it dawns on him that some of the tracks are still being made right in front of their very eyes!

“Spark, look at this!” he crows enthusiastically.
“What?” she says much more softly as she catches up to him, having fallen behind as the sheen of sunlight on snow had caught her eyes more than the tracks did.

He is about to tell her that the tracks were being made by something clearly masked from their sight, but all of a sudden the thing making them is visible! She starts shaking the snowy buildup from her back; neither of them minds the snow humped up on their backs - it makes them look like bumbling snow-monsters, a game that they’ve enjoyed playing many a time or two in the snowy doldrums of the Tundra. They’ve not bothered to encounter any of the other denizens here, preferring to spend all their time together or else, elsewhere. But they can see that she is a bay with a blanket of gold spots to add to her ability to turn invisible; they never received anything so fantastic as that from the mating of their mother and father, just one red eye each that stamped them as Offspring’s own.

“She clearly doesn’t know we are here…” he snorts.
Spark nips at his side in consternation, “She will now, you loud mouth!”

She rolls her eyes; her brother could be so rude sometimes.
“Don’t mind him,” she calls out to the filly gamboling ahead of them, trying to eat snow and kick up her heels.

    eye for an eye
