    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Maribel

She has changed. They all have changed. The Reckoning had brought so many new and different things in her wake. The mare breathes deeply before beginning her trek to Tephra to see her father. Since Romek had left on business to some place she was unfamiliar with, Mari needed the security...the comfort.

The mare is now snow white and gold after the incident with the babies (no longer babies really). She had died for them...with them...and had come back to save them...but that was neither here not there.

A small call is tossed as she breaks the entrance of Tephra. Blue eyes are bright and watching for the familiar dark figure of a certain red eyed stallion. Mari missed herfather and mother and siblings terribly and she knew he was not pleased with Romek. Oh well, Mari realizes that despite the unhappiness that Offspring may have for Romek, Mari casts it aside to find her father. "Daddy? The delicate voice raises over the land as she seeks him. The pale ears are turning and twisting feverishly for a response as gold legs begins to cover more ground.

Maribel only slows when she knows he has met the center of the forestry land. The well beaten grounds give away the secrets of this land (though similar to her own home). Another call is cast but it is softer, less urgent. Her father would show eventually.

And when she laughs you'll always take notice.
'Cause her heart's charm will shine right through it all.
